The free box is a small white square on the clothing wall next to the yabusaka schoolgirl uniform if I remember correctly. It has a pants and top mesh outfit with no texture. I think a seperate small box on the floor somewhere has a resize script and some help notecards.

I got it - but there doesn't seem to be a proper top - so I get weird issues with one of the top-ish pieces and pants.

Yes. I have an alt with the name Fairy Queen, and I turned her into a petite avatar.

I love it! I like the fact that you can still use a full-size AO on them, and I have a crown from the most recent Menstuff hunt which is mesh and can be resized accordingly.

The only problem I have had is that some viewers still don't display al the mesh correctly. I was using Exodus and the petite avatar's eyes would not rez. It would have been fine if I had just switched to the SL viewer, but instead I spent half an hour adjusting the eyes and now they don't fit at all, I should have made a copy before I did it, now I can't use that one set of eyes. Lucky I have other sets....

Does anyone know if there is any sort of dev kit for making meshes? I'd love to make a custom mesh of my normal shape that would work with those clothing set meshes [which is brilliant now I've figured it out....]

I've joined the group and I am going to see what I can do for making scaled neko and fae body parts, since I don't think there would be many issues with it. But I want to know what is already out there

That sounds like an instance where a z-axis modifying slider is useful.

Is there API/Templates available in public or the creator should be contacted personally ? Thank you.

You can get the template meshes at the Petite Avatar Kingdom store, and then the UVs are just the same as the ones for the SL avatar. So you can texture them with clothes you already made, even.

And I think that for the api stuff for making the meshes themselves, you need to contact the original creator - but I'm not sure yet - I put in a query and if anyone else wants to know, then I'll post it here when I know for sure - it seems to be something where they want a lot of devs but I'm not positive...

i just got one today ^^ so cute. you all convinced me.
i love that there's the freebie thing to apply textures to to easily make clothes. i haven't tried it yet, (well i applied Chip's template thingie, just to see how it went - and of course it fix perfect) but i'm definitely going to.

one thing i'm wishing is i'd picked up one of those resizer things, that "helps" you find rogue .010 prims.. and ignores them, or resizes around them or whatever...

Cause sometimes i'm shrinking something, that won't shrink anymore, because of just /one or two/ pesky prims that are already .010, and if i could just find them i could unlink! or whatever.

anyone know where to get one?

I just used my FSP resizer thingie - it doesn't actually do the shrinking for you, but it does let you shrink on any axis that isn't minimal sized - still, think for my cat ears, I'll need to just make as nano-ears.

Furnitures! We needs furnitures! I want to open a Petite bar/lounge next to the current Geoduck Inn in Steelhead. I'll probably call it The Dungeness Crab.

I'm looking into making builds for petites - it will be scaled a bit big, because the bounding box is still a little big comparitively, but not horribly. And want to see how much of a pain seats will be.

The builds are pretty easy and are only scaled slightly larger then average. I did some flower pots (you can see them in my snapzilla) and they do have to be a bit bigger then an average flower pot but not by much.

The biggest thing (and I use a multi sit script gadget thing so forget this part since I can just edit the sit to where I want it no matter how it's uploaded) is that when you upload a pose/animation, I think you need to upload them as a stand (if you plan on using them OUT of the build as a stand alone animation/pose) because if you upload them as sits, they will sink the Petite under ground.

I haven't remembered to upload as a stand yet but when I do a build this week and if nobody else has tested it, I will and reply back here.

So far, it does look like furniture needs to be scripted for offsets - since when I sat on a box, it put me above it. But that's not a huge big deal to set up, I think - just put in the default sit, position it, and hope that the various AO sits work properly [they should].

A Note of Caution

My attention has been drawn to a couple of serious crashing issues recently raised in the Firestorm and Official Jiras about petites, or some versions and components of them ... I can't speak on the matter myself, other than to note that the issues apparently affect both Firestorm and other viewers:

First one [#FIRE-5007] [CRASH] to desktop when editing attachment - Yabusaka Petites - Phoenix Viewer and https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-28372
Second one [#FIRE-5132] [CRASH] ERROR: llrender/llvertexbuffer.cpp (1876) : VertexBufferStrider<class llcolor4U,6>::get: VertexBufferStrider could not find valid Vertex data - Phoenix Viewer and https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-28438
The latter has apparently been reproduced on both the official Beta and Development viewers.

I've shrunk down some of my mesh furniture and just had to redo all the sits in them. I need to make myself more stuff so I can have a tiny wee house!

I noticed this - you have to rez the petite meshes to edit them.

Also, going to make mesh house and furniture, think it will be fun to have a wee home of my own.
