The question has been posed to JLU members before, their response is that if you're mad about it leaking then you should be mad at the leakers. If you point out that they were the ones who gathered it and made the whole thing possible, they just back into their lie of "all the information can be found on google and is public" and refuse to budge.

See here is the thing, I am not even talking about the RL info.
Lets go with the (Yes I know~rolls my eyes~) Crazy assumption that their is NO real life info and what is is out on the web for anyone to see.
Now if we stick to the SL only facts
1.) We know, JLU knows, Prok Knows the JLU has been collecting Data on Second Life Residents.
2.) Some of the Information is on what JLU and Prok Describe as Greifers
3.) Some information is on people who speak out against the JLU
4.) Some information is on residents who make mistakes and get AR for not knowing better
So Basically they track SL residents
Now it doesn't make any difference that the Wiki was stolen or handed to anyone. Yes I can blame the Hackers sure. But if the wiki which we Know was handed over by a "JLU member" then we know that their Wiki is not secure. They know it is not secure.
First time it was leaked they SHOULD have done a better job at protecting it.
2nd time it was leaked they should have shut the project down till they actually learn how to secure the information better.
Now they can deny and claim that its not their fault that it was stolen or hacked but that is wrong, you don't see a bank when data gets taken going its not our fault blame the hackers. NO because it is the banks fault for not having better security in place to prevent the theft of the data.
So Take this at the basic level the base level.
the JLU is at fault and that the Data on the Wiki if fallen into the (excuse the term please) wrong hands. It can be used to grief and stalk residents in SL.
This is what I think the base level that Linden Labs needs to understand and deal with.
Think about this.
Could we AR the JLU for having a wiki since they held it and now its leaked and people could be getting harassed?

Although the MA state law I posted involves commerce, I am not sure how much that would apply to JLU or Kael. (is he selling things in SL?)

• SLU is full of hardcore hackers who regularly break into the FBI's Gibsons and post cat pictures all over their desktops. Also did StuxNET and the skillful, efficient murder of MILLIONS OF CHICKENS. (See the Cluckocaust thread.)

However, there are laws to protect anyone in the states against what the JLU has done to them.

Also in Europe they have a great law for protection of datamining but, having that apply to the US is unlikely.

So it is up to the individual who has had any of these laws broken concerning them to take action, the only thing that can be done at this point.

Educate SL residents about the real situation, also.

I do know that if they came after me RL, I would have no issue with throwing the book at them along with my attorneys help that I have on hand for my small business.

From just looking at the DC and California laws on cyberstalking it would seem we have some nice provisions on this side of the pond as well!

I did not completely go through the California law, but the DC one reads like anyone here who they stalked (or if the JLU person is in DC) would be able to file against them. Not only that, but the potential penalties go up in several cases, including for a prior conviction in ANY jurisdiction.
