This exploit was used against Meeroo food vendor machines. I can't find the JIRA entry yeyt, but it has been mentioned at Andrew's UG

No, that was in a branded shop. Technically I think you can haggle in those sorts of stores but depending on where it is, doing so ranges from poor taste to extremely offensive.

In the markets though if you don't haggle, oftentimes the shopkeepers get genuinely offended. It's part of the game and you're expected to participate in it.

We're going to the South Bund Silk Market later on in the week which is essentially a big enormous garment district where you can have clothes of all varieties custom made. Last year I had a leather coat made for me fitted exactly to my measurements for about $90 USD, Adam's mother came along and had probably fifteen winter coats hand sewed for under $1000. This time around I'm looking to get a bunch of t-shirts done really cheaply, and after Adam saw my leather jacket he wanted one for himself as well.

That's where the real haggling will be.

Same # of scripts in each object as the ones I found?
Same names as the scripts in your obects?


Regardless of what you find out, Fact remains, Kalel never had permission to Monitor avatars on the sim I found his objects on.

Thanks Ashiri. According to that cited article, auto-return still works on the exploit-rezzed objects. So, let's see. I guess there's an internally consistent explanation in which the land was not set for auto-return. Even if build were disabled presumably the object could still rez the sensors there using the same exploit, as long as scripts were enabled.

So, if this is all correct, there's no need for anybody to go hunting for stray spy shit from our errant superheroes as long as they have auto-return enabled.

And even if they don't have auto-return enabled, is there any reason to think it wouldn't show up in the About Land list of owners of objects not owned by the parcel owner nor set to group?

Qie asked earlier if the region had auto return on and I didn't see you mention it in your original posts. (I could be blind of course, it's not unknown).

Someone knowledgeable correct me if I', wrong but i believe that their is another well known exploit that lets objects evade autoreturn, I cannot imagine that conners wouldn't know of it to.

But yes. There are ways to do that. SL sucks like that. I'd rather not discuss details because I don't believe in handing that kind of info out like lollipops.

Obviously I have no idea one way or another about that, but the thing is, if we need to take extraordinary measures to hunt these things, it would not only need to evade auto-return, but also somehow fail to show in About Land's list of alien objects (while at the same time showing in Top Scripts, as it's been shown to do).

ETA: Again, this isn't just academic. Firstly, we care quite practically about how much effort must be taken for people to determine if there's any need to go hunting for these things. And secondly, we care about just how much sleazy exploit it was for Kalel's shit to be lying around unnamed Antiquity sim. For this latter, it's not only that there exists a way to evade auto-return, but it matters whether it can be determined that the object was in fact taking advantage of that exploit. So... for example, it would have been really informative if there were some requirement that an exploiting object remain in the SW corner of a sim; indeed, it was suggested that this was evidence of it having gotten there by exploit; but AFAIK, once the thing is rezzed by that exploit it could be moved anywhere in the sim, which means that its location doesn't reduce much uncertainty.

i saw these the other day when i was just hanging around you tube looking for funny videos and decided..what the heck lets do a JLU search hehehe..

what i found funny about that is that his responses were 3 months old and in the middle of all the other responses..everyone elses responses were from a year ago..
can people go back and edit their responses anytime they want on youtube?

if so then him being right in the middle looks like he went back 3 months ago to edit posts from a year ago..
it'd be neat to see what he said the first time if thats the case hehehe
