Pretty much. To the "letter of the law" nothing says that the device can't exist and its prohibition of use is vague enough to allow someone to use it until another complains (ARs). (^_^)

And, in the end, the lab has an unspoken rule of "AR or it didn't happen". The Labbies don't actively 'police' the grid. What goes on in closed sims, stays in closed sims. What goes un-seen, goes un-reported and un-banned. (^_^)y

Well, some prims have been found that may or may not have been placed there by Kalel (there's always the old "I wuz hacked!" alibi) and may or may not really have been there (we curiously don't see a sim name on that screenshot).

The JLU has been harvesting SL users RL info (to include) phone numbers, addresses, names, and even how many kids people have and MEDICAL HISTORY/HEALTH ISSUES. Detailed here JLU Harvesting IP Addresses? It gets interesting about page 18 where this stuff is confirmed. All this info is kept on their Brainiac wiki which is being leaked to the internet. Are you affected? Perhaps, they've been gathering this data for YEARS.

This same group has literally had their wiki (hacked or leaked) onto the internet showing peoples SL name, RL name, Phone numbers, Addresses, how many children they have in their household and even medical history/health issues. This is absolutely terrible. Also it's worth noting there's even entries on Lindens in their wiki being leaked out.

Both of these paragraphs are entirely misleading and tendentious.

They make it seem like the JLU keeps files on "everybody" or "tens of thousands" or something.

They don't admit that it is griefers, involved in griefing attacks, who are recorded and investigated.

They claim that people's SL and RL names are shown -- although where they have that on the JLU wiki, it appears to be in the public domain.

Zip Paz makes it appear as if the JLU routinely obtains and files "Medical history/health information" on "everybody" or "lots of people" or 'all griefers" when in fact, the ONLY case we have for that is Deadly Codec's information, which *he himself put in the public domain on Youtube, Twitter, newspaper articles, blogs, etc.*

He makes it seem as if it's a routine matter for the JLU to put down "how many children" people have.

Yet we have only ONE such allegation, and this comes from the very curious and contorted story of one Tuxette Magic, who may or may not be the alt of Tux, who may or may not be a separate person, who may have told a falsehood about her location/children just to see if like red dye, it would "show up".

Two cases involving two griefers, very well known, is all that is really available here -- and yet we're hearing the most wild, distorted, tendentious and hysterical claims about this vigilante outfit.

I'm quite prepared to believe that the JLU kept files and "got stuff' on people, and maybe not by "lawful means" or maybe not from "open sources".

But there isn't any case. The information cited comes from two griefers and therefore is highly suspect and in the case of the medical information completely fake. The idea of "medical" and "children" is merely being invoked to tart up the allegation and make it seem like RL laws could come into play.

Kalel Venkman remains in the people list.

They weren't shown to be IP logging, not that this is a crime, but that was shown to be a hoax evidently by Soft Linden.

We got a whole lot of nothing here.

Frankly, unless I found a Kalel Venkman prim piping data into and out of SL from my RL showing my number of children, address, phone number and medical records I'd be disinclined to believe any of this.

The Wrong Hands is a heavily tainted source.
