JLU labels anyone that does not agree with them a griefer (or anyone that simply looks like a griefer). They then proceed to fabricate elaborate stories about these people (according to them I flew to New York to do free legal work for someone recently...I haven't been to New York since 1995 which I suppose is "recent" when dealing with the elderly members of the JLU).

These elaborately delusional stories end up becoming their own reality. That "reality" ends up making them paranoid fuckheads and they feel the only way to protect the grid and themselves from these fabricated monsters is with something handed out for free like Phantom Zone. Along the way they decided to track IPs presumably to keep track of the alts of the people they get banned.

To a JLU member, a banned avatar that comes back on an alt is nothing short of a criminal IRL (seriously). Serial griefers lurking at every turn. This paranoia and misinformation generally explains a lot of the incorrect, hurried entries on their wiki regarding alternate accounts.

the TL;DR version: JLU = old delusional fuckheads.

There is such a thing as charitable good-will. Not that I think this Kalel individual necessarily is making it free for this reason. It's probably more like free to spread it around as far as possible, since some folks will not buy something unless it's dirt cheap or free.

If your goal is to collect data (the wiki proves this to be true), then the best way to snake one's tendrils all over is to give it out for free.

And if you give it by word-of-mouth, it is harder to track for AR purposes. Not on the Marketplace, no inworld store. It is like a drug trade on the streets. You have to catch him in the act.
