I'd like to maintain a much longer banlist myself - and the idea of a "panic button" lockdown would be lovely.

But the off-grid database makes me intensely nervous, unless it's running on MY properly secured computer... and I'm paranoid enough to realize I'm probably not paranoid enough to do THAT correctly, either.

Maybe they read your post where you admitted to wearing spandex and felt a kinship?

It's funny. Whenever I talk to Lindens, I don't use them to try and get favors. I am genuinely interested in being friends with them. JLU only talk to them because they have power.

Was anyone else amused that "JLU WIKI OPT OUT" appeared in that last image, and yet, there's no where to actually click and ... ya'know... OPT OUT?

Also: I'd like to point out that the costumes I have seen these (JLU) folks wearing in various pictures posted have been utterly atrocious. I'd be happy to provide pictures and suggestions for much nicer looking ensembles....

GLE would be Moltar since he sidesteps anything he doesn't want to answer.

Well, its semantics and no one, especially LL - should be going on a screenshot from a third party source, anyway.

That said, it is a simple matter for them to determine how a scripted object is functioning. Whether or not they choose to take that step is really up to them.

I don't think this is a smoking gun.
It proves that it's something they keep track of - and have an automated reference system for. REGARDLESS how, (and more importantly, how reliably) they gather and associate mains and alts - well, it speaks to intent.

LOL
What i found intresting was that anyone "placing" items in SL. they automtically say it must be an alt of TUX.
Tux Sorry that Ka'el seems to love you so much, seems like he is upset at you for not paying attention to him anymore.

As promised. If for nothing else, to keep the thread sort of interesting. Keep in mind this isn't a scathing leak of any sort, although it is directly from my logs. It's really just an account of JLU typical behavior. If some of you find it uninteresting, thats perfectly fine.:

In the home sim of FgT, BiForce, TriForce, and Trollmanual editors, a little over a year ago today (August 15, 2010), we got an unflux of traffic that was unprecedented. Upon getting called in because it looked weird, I logged on to find over 40 noob accounts all over our sim, notably near the build of a pokemon avatar tied to chains in a very gothic manner. Among these weirdos was Maverick Grunfeld, Sairi Matova, and GLE. Technically according to the TOS, asking someone to leave your sim and not being met with complience is harassment, and apparently bannable. So I had to individually IM 40 people. Literally, each one of them had an almost identical response:
NOTE: I logged on my dummy account at the time, which was a spoof on poetry mongloid Sabreman Carter. So sabreman is me.

Quote:
[2010/08/15 19:14] sabreman Cartauld: Leave this sim, please.
[2010/08/15 19:15] Kara Timtam: It is open to the public.
[2010/08/15 19:15] sabreman Cartauld: I'll ask one last time before I report and AR for an organized greifer attack. leave now.
[2010/08/15 19:16] Kara Timtam: Already gone. Interesting place you have there. What are you hiding?
Every single one of them stalled in being asked to leave.

Quote:
[2010/08/15 19:14] sabreman Cartauld: GLE, Leave the sim.
[2010/08/15 19:14] GreenLantern Excelsior: Good evening, how are you tonight?
[2010/08/15 19:15] sabreman Cartauld: GLE, I know what you guys are doing.
[2010/08/15 19:15] sabreman Cartauld: Stop it.
[2010/08/15 19:15] sabreman Cartauld: Jesus, i thought you and i were good.
[2010/08/15 19:15] sabreman Cartauld: and here I am being harassed like a greifer
[2010/08/15 19:15] GreenLantern Excelsior: I'm just exploring with some of my friends. I haven't written any ARs
[2010/08/15 19:16] sabreman Cartauld: I'll ask one last time before I report and AR for an organized greifer attack. leave now.
[2010/08/15 19:16] sabreman Cartauld: Im not stupid, GLE. You PDs have been here all day
[2010/08/15 19:16] GreenLantern Excelsior: I haven't attacked anyone. Are you the sim owner?
[2010/08/15 19:16] sabreman Cartauld: GLE, if you dont leave, im reporting for harassing on our home sim
[2010/08/15 19:17] GreenLantern Excelsior: Well I don't want to cause problems so I will take off.
The names start getting interesting.

Quote:
[2010/08/15 19:14] sabreman Cartauld: Leave this sim, please.
[2010/08/15 19:15] Cdurd770 Halfpint‧: why? It's public right?
[2010/08/15 19:15] sabreman Cartauld‧: I'll ask one last time before I report and AR for an organized greifer attack. leave now.
[2010/08/15 19:16] Cdurd770 Halfpint‧: griefer attack?
[2010/08/15 19:16] Cdurd770 Halfpint‧: You're threatning me with ARs?
[2010/08/15 19:17] sabreman Cartauld‧: Im telling you that if you dont leave, im considering it harassment as you all have been doing all day.
[2010/08/15 19:17] Cdurd770 Halfpint‧: Me?
[2010/08/15 19:17] Cdurd770 Halfpint‧: Bud, I'm not with the JLU.
[2010/08/15 19:17] Cdurd770 Halfpint‧: nor did I IM you.
[2010/08/15 19:17] Cdurd770 Halfpint‧: You are harassing me.
[2010/08/15 19:17] sabreman Cartauld‧: Did I say anything about the JLU?
[2010/08/15 19:17] sabreman Cartauld‧: Leave
[2010/08/15 19:17] Cdurd770 Halfpint‧: take care man, c ya around.
Cdurd in particular attempts to wrangle me into admitting that im threatening with ARs, which is against the TOS, but only in terms of blackmail, not in regard to actual offenses, which serve as warnings. Also, note he mentions the JLU, establishing furthermore that these monkies often fail of stepping out of their own context when trying to be sneaky.

Quote:
[2010/08/15 19:14] sabreman Cartauld: Leave this sim, please.
[2010/08/15 19:15] Emiley Tomsen: And you are?

[2010/08/15 19:18] sabreman Cartauld: Im considering this harassment
[2010/08/15 19:18] Emiley Tomsen: How am I harrasing you? I don't know who you are.
Quote:
[2010/08/15 19:14] sabreman Cartauld: GLE, Leave the sim.
[2010/08/15 19:17] sabreman Cartauld: I'll ask one last time before I report and AR for an organized greifer attack. leave now.
[2010/08/15 19:18] Melanippe Karas: Beg pardon? You haven't asked me anything. I'm just visiting, the sim has a pretty name.
[2010/08/15 19:20] sabreman Cartauld: Yes. You and about a thousand other PDs and JLUs. You all seem to be SO interested in visiting here. Get out. Stay out. last warning before I consider this harassment in the form of mass ARing and spying
[2010/08/15 19:21] sabreman Cartauld: Now get out
[2010/08/15 19:21] Melanippe Karas: Coincidence. We just left a group thing.
[2010/08/15 19:22] sabreman Cartauld: Yeah. Coincidence for 2 days straight. My god, you people assume everyone is stupid.
[2010/08/15 19:22] Melanippe Karas: I've never been here before.
[2010/08/15 19:25] sabreman Cartauld: What did i tell you?
[2010/08/15 19:25] sabreman Cartauld: Get out of my sim
[2010/08/15 19:25] Melanippe Karas: A bunch of unfriendly things, actually. With this attitude, how do you expect visitors?
[2010/08/15 19:26] sabreman Cartauld: Get out.
[2010/08/15 19:27] Melanippe Karas: What, you control this sim too? Am I allowed on the mainland, or must I not hover over that either?
Not that this is particular interesting, but moreso to illustrate that their tactics are no less arrogant or obnoxious than frankly...ours.

Its at this point that I send an IM to Maverick...

Quote:
[2010/08/15 19:19] sabreman Cartauld: Im letting you know now that I know what you're doing, have proof, and Im considering this organized harassment on our home sim in the form of spying on us and mass ARing. You've been told to stay out and your circumventing a request by doing it through alts and friends.
[2010/08/15 19:25] Maverick Grunfeld: Spying? I visited a public sim after getting a teleport request. Anyway, how about we just close the loop here and be friends? I think it is fairly simple anyway. The soft trolling on accounts in Ahern ends. The Troll Manual website? Take it down. Follow the TOS/CS. Don't harass other residents. Don't hang furry objects in crufied positons, or post RL disclosure photos of your vicitms of harassment in world. You can stop making alts then as if the rules were followed you won't be on a day old alt constantly.
Now see, Maverick made an error here, essentially admitting that he did organize this AR Party, and is blackmailing me to remove MY shit from MY sim, as well as the troll manual, and to stay out of ahern and violet. This mistake doesn't escape me.

Quote:
[2010/08/15 19:25] sabreman Cartauld: Oh wow...
[2010/08/15 19:25] Maverick Grunfeld: Anyway, that to me would make sense. If I was in a position where my actions were giving me problems, I would probably adjust them.
[2010/08/15 19:25] sabreman Cartauld: You really shouldnt have typed that.
[2010/08/15 19:26] sabreman Cartauld: You know better, in fact.
[2010/08/15 19:26] sabreman Cartauld: So you were "visiting" and know who i am?
[2010/08/15 19:26] sabreman Cartauld: Wow, you guys are FULL of coincidences
[2010/08/15 19:26] Maverick Grunfeld: No, I don't know you. You're a day old. How could I?
[2010/08/15 19:26] sabreman Cartauld: Well whos to say I run trollmanual then?
[2010/08/15 19:26] Maverick Grunfeld: I did get a TP request though from soembody I knew though at the sim.
[2010/08/15 19:26] Maverick Grunfeld: I never said you did.
[2010/08/15 19:27] sabreman Cartauld: then why would you ask me to take it down?
[2010/08/15 19:27] sabreman Cartauld: in fact
[2010/08/15 19:27] Maverick Grunfeld: Oh, I don't know. I figure you might know somebody who does.
[2010/08/15 19:27] sabreman Cartauld: were both adults, why are you playing dumb.
[2010/08/15 19:27] sabreman Cartauld: My god, we both know who each other are.
[2010/08/15 19:27] sabreman Cartauld: Speak this out like men or stay out of the sim.
[2010/08/15 19:28] sabreman Cartauld: Seriously, speak this out
[2010/08/15 19:28] sabreman Cartauld: Firstly, we dont have a furry crucified. We have a pokemon tied to chains a la Gothesque
[2010/08/15 19:29] Maverick Grunfeld: Thanks for the clarification. I heard differently.
[2010/08/15 19:29] Maverick Grunfeld: Sorry if it caused any distress.
[2010/08/15 19:29] sabreman Cartauld: Secondly, you just openly admitted, to me, that you are organizing an attack on our sim, for something we've done outside the game.
[2010/08/15 19:29] sabreman Cartauld: At this point ALONE I would suggest you call off your dogs
[2010/08/15 19:30] sabreman Cartauld: Thirdly, the trollmanual.com is outside the game and none of your business, and you shoul......i have to interrupt myself...i think we both know you shouldnt have typed what you typed to me if you wanted your way
[2010/08/15 19:31] sabreman Cartauld: like....can we at least laugh at your tiny mistake there?
[2010/08/15 19:31] Maverick Grunfeld: An attack? No. Not at all. As for the dogs, we heard about the furry and were told to come and check it out. So we did. As for the Manual, you're certainly right. And we both know that is outside of LL's perview
[2010/08/15 19:31] Maverick Grunfeld: You and I both know LL doesn't care what is outside of the grid.
[2010/08/15 19:32] sabreman Cartauld: Exactly. and youre using in game bullying to accomplish out of game satisfaction.
[2010/08/15 19:32] sabreman Cartauld: Look, I honestly think you might want to tell your crew that this is over.
[2010/08/15 19:32] sabreman Cartauld: Neither of us have to tell them why

Not sure if anyone's posted this, but this is the email you get from LL regarding filing an Abuse Report (words in bold are my emphasis):

Quote:
Thank you for taking the time to submit a Second Life abuse report. If the reported incident violates Second Life's Community Standards or Terms of Service, we will take appropriate action.

What happens next?
If any further information is required, Linden Lab will contact you regarding this incident.

Will Linden Lab follow up with you after the investigation is closed?
Linden Lab examines each abuse incident independently and will not disclose the resolution of abuse/community standards violations with Second Life Residents, except when necessary to introduce a new or amended policy. Linden Lab will not disclose incident details including (but not limited to): identity of the reporter, details of chat logs, resolution of incidents, and/or suspensions/banning of Second Life Residents.

We hope that this will be the last of any unpleasant encounters for you inworld. If you continue to experience problems with a Resident, please file a new inworld abuse report for each new incident and we will investigate each report independently.

To file an abuse report while inworld, select Help > Report Abuse...

For more information on abuse reports, please take a look at our "Guide to Filing an Abuse Report" article or our "Report Abuse" video in the Second Life Knowledge Base: Linden Lab Official:Filing an Abuse Report - Second Life Wiki.
This is straight from the horse's mouth. LL claims that they do not share details of reports with residents -- I'm assuming from what people have said here, they don't seem to share information even with the people who have been ARed (!?)

But I am assuming "they" also mean that they would not be disclosing this information to members of the JLU either.

And they do encourage you to file an AR each and every time you have a bad experience with an individual resident. So those of you experiencing harassment, please take the time to AR every incident.

It seems to me that Kalel, GLE and other members of the JLU are spending a very unhealthy, obsessional amount to time on the internet stalking residents.
patrolling sims, creating alt accounts to gain personal info, reporting residents, replying to threads on forums, typing up that illegal wiki, Googling, making fake Facebook accounts, messaging innocent families, phoning residents, sending emails and contacting Scotland Yard.
Is there anything I haven't mentioned?

How very sad it must be to be you............That your lives are so empty and miserable, you have to project your paranoid delusions on everyone else's lives!!

[2010/08/15 19:33] sabreman Cartauld: Men are honest with themselves. You made a mistake in your wording.
[2010/08/15 19:34] Maverick Grunfeld: How so?

At this point, Mav is either just being contradictory, with his intense need to AR winning out, or trying to backpeddle.

Quote:
[2010/08/15 19:40] Maverick Grunfeld: Truthfully, if you want my honest opinion, I really have little interest in what somebody does in their own region.
[2010/08/15 19:40] sabreman Cartauld: Then get out of ours.
[2010/08/15 19:40] Maverick Grunfeld: They own it, their people come and go, really doesn't irk me at all.
[2010/08/15 19:40] sabreman Cartauld: and stay out. You wanna AR us in welcome areas? Do it.
[2010/08/15 19:41] sabreman Cartauld: its no secret we dont care. But its not difficult to get you guys to stop your little attack via many other ways.
[2010/08/15 19:42] sabreman Cartauld: Like I said, i dont care about any of this. Just drop it. its dumb and pointless and you know it
[2010/08/15 19:43] sabreman Cartauld: Just say "Okay, we'll leave your sim be" and we can all move on.
[2010/08/15 19:44] sabreman Cartauld: In fact...
[2010/08/15 19:44] Maverick Grunfeld: Here's my point, why do you find a need to venture out into other sims and harass others?
[2010/08/15 19:44] sabreman Cartauld: Wait.
[2010/08/15 19:45] sabreman Cartauld: Before I answer.
[2010/08/15 19:45] sabreman Cartauld: and before you answer...
[2010/08/15 19:45] sabreman Cartauld: I want to ask you something.
[2010/08/15 19:45] Maverick Grunfeld: Sure.
[2010/08/15 19:45] sabreman Cartauld: The person that turned you on to us.
[2010/08/15 19:45] sabreman Cartauld: I dont have to say. you dont have to confirm
[2010/08/15 19:45] sabreman Cartauld: we both know who it is.
[2010/08/15 19:45] sabreman Cartauld: Did you bother to research why she happens to be a target?
[2010/08/15 19:45] sabreman Cartauld: Because I'll be happy to tell you
[2010/08/15 19:46] Maverick Grunfeld: I'm listening.
Its at this point, I explain to him exactly WHY he was "called" out here. In the previous days, Constance Maurer, a welcome area weirdo had been threatening and bragging about getting the JLU on us. So when the JLU showed up in our sim, we sort of knew who it was.

Quote:
[2010/08/15 19:47] sabreman Cartauld: There was one day in ahern when we were pulling a prank. not a troll, but a prank. My 2 best friends and I faked real life information about ourselves, as if we were super white trash with illegitimate children..
[2010/08/15 19:47] sabreman Cartauld: you know...to make people think were gross
[2010/08/15 19:47] sabreman Cartauld: We did this so people would troll us, and we sprung it on them that they were all fooled to prove a point that theyre hungry for our attention.
[2010/08/15 19:47] sabreman Cartauld: You can read about it on the manual..
[2010/08/15 19:47] Maverick Grunfeld: Sure, I follow.
[2010/08/15 19:47] Maverick Grunfeld: Hippos right?
[2010/08/15 19:47] sabreman Cartauld: hungry hippos on "c...
[2010/08/15 19:47] sabreman Cartauld: lol
This is where I get weirded out. We're pretty narcissistic and like to give our trolling names. This particular one, we called Hungy Hungry Hippos. Maverick essentially reveals that he's read so much about the troll manual that he's committed shit to memory, obviously letting on that his purpose here is much more involved than he lets on.

Quote:
[2010/08/15 19:47] sabreman Cartauld: Yes
[2010/08/15 19:47] sabreman Cartauld: Anyway
[2010/08/15 19:48] sabreman Cartauld: Our ex friend Hirshel wasnt involved in that.
[2010/08/15 19:48] sabreman Cartauld: And she repsonded by calling Hirshels real life employment and telling them that he was a nazi and a member of a hate group in order to get him fired.
[2010/08/15 19:48] Maverick Grunfeld: Ah, see that's crossing the line.
[2010/08/15 19:48] Maverick Grunfeld: Frankly, I'd be annoyed too.
[2010/08/15 19:48] sabreman Cartauld: Sos what youre doing when you dont research.
[2010/08/15 19:49] sabreman Cartauld: Now, shes in ahern disclosing information about me, hirshel, Rachel, my girlfriend, and Sufi
[2010/08/15 19:49] Maverick Grunfeld: Well, let's be honest too-given the histories, communication isn't quite our speciality.
[2010/08/15 19:49] sabreman Cartauld: We're communicating now.
[2010/08/15 19:49] sabreman Cartauld: Something that could've easily been done by getting ahold of me and asking WHY
[2010/08/15 19:50] Maverick Grunfeld: Indeed. Though as odd ias it is.
[2010/08/15 19:50] sabreman Cartauld: She has taken this to a level that is unacceptable.
[2010/08/15 19:50] sabreman Cartauld: And frankly, i think anything we do is justified.
[2010/08/15 19:50] Maverick Grunfeld: While I don't agree with your response, because let's be honest, we're talking a broader scope here and escalation
[2010/08/15 19:51] sabreman Cartauld: We're not the bad people here. We're not the good ones either. But like i said, we both know who turned you on to us.
[2010/08/15 19:51] Maverick Grunfeld: I do appreciate what spurred your revival.
As usual, a JLU call to arms without any research. At this point I consider explaining to Maverick the difference between greifer and "welcome area asshole".

Quote:
[2010/08/15 19:51] sabreman Cartauld: The truth is this, Mav.
[2010/08/15 19:51] sabreman Cartauld: We're not greifers. we dont attack sims. we dont crash sims, we dont steal and resell. We're a bunch of arrogant intellectual assholes who like to argue.
[2010/08/15 19:51] sabreman Cartauld: Nothing more.
[2010/08/15 19:52] sabreman Cartauld: Any 'greifing" you may be aware of is not greifing. its retribution which is quite human.
[2010/08/15 19:52] sabreman Cartauld: If you want to go after anyone, it should be her.
[2010/08/15 19:53] Maverick Grunfeld: Well, in this spirit of communication, I would say nothing was as exclusive as you may think it was.
[2010/08/15 19:53] sabreman Cartauld: Im not positive I understand that. reword?
[2010/08/15 19:53] sabreman Cartauld: OH
[2010/08/15 19:53] sabreman Cartauld: Wait
[2010/08/15 19:53] sabreman Cartauld: i think i got you
[2010/08/15 19:53] Maverick Grunfeld: Alright.
[2010/08/15 19:54] Maverick Grunfeld: We do have multiple feelers and ears on the ground out there.
[2010/08/15 19:54] Maverick Grunfeld: You can appreciate that obviously.
[2010/08/15 19:54] sabreman Cartauld: in the spirit of communication, we're aware. more aware than one would think, i suppose.
[2010/08/15 19:55] Maverick Grunfeld: Quite. And the old days of two clashing forms of griefing are more and more aged and over - in many ways to how it used to be anyway.
[2010/08/15 19:56] Maverick Grunfeld: If we want to do a history lesson on it all, it is vasty different.
[2010/08/15 19:56] sabreman Cartauld: Then if you walk with anything, walk with this: every day, assholes like me are branded as greifers. Greifer is such a disgusting derrogatory mccarthyist word anyway.
[2010/08/15 19:56] sabreman Cartauld: Fact is were not. were dicks. and were allowed to be dicks.
[2010/08/15 19:57] sabreman Cartauld: especially when some psycho goes off the deep end and starts houding our real lives.
[2010/08/15 19:57] sabreman Cartauld: If youve seen the trollmanual, read up on me. Look what shes done to our youtubes, our flickrs, our myspaces.
[2010/08/15 19:58] Maverick Grunfeld: As I said, I'm completely there with you in that regard. That's a line that shouldn't be crossed. And for the most part, it seems most people know this.
[2010/08/15 19:58] sabreman Cartauld: Then call this off
[2010/08/15 19:58] sabreman Cartauld: in fact, tell Dal Cuttita to get out of the sim. hes here now
[2010/08/15 19:59] Maverick Grunfeld: That was one of our issues with the Wiki Leak to be honest. It didn't have so much to do with our information being right or wrong. But we tracked things that we didn't want to go further. And the Wrong Hands weren't wise about that.
[2010/08/15 19:59] Maverick Grunfeld: Dal isn't one of mine.
[2010/08/15 19:59] sabreman Cartauld: Then tell whoever he belongs to to get him out.
[2010/08/15 19:59] Maverick Grunfeld: The news of the region has gone to others, but I will pass the word.
[2010/08/15 20:00] sabreman Cartauld: I've been nothing but civil here. I want it on you to make sure its passed.
[2010/08/15 20:00] Maverick Grunfeld: It has been, you got my word. I know his control.
[2010/08/15 20:01] Maverick Grunfeld: No value added in lurking now anyway.
[2010/08/15 20:01] Maverick Grunfeld: To be honest :-)
[2010/08/15 20:01] sabreman Cartauld: Im considering this entire situation handled and over with then yes?
[2010/08/15 20:01] sabreman Cartauld: Was that a veiled way of saying "We got what we need"?
Clearly it was, because fast forwarding into the future, every one of us was banned the next day, and our sim was stripped from us maybe a week later. But anyway...

[2010/08/15 20:02] Maverick Grunfeld: Look, we both know that I and others took an oath here to take a stand against things that cross the TOS/CS.
[2010/08/15 20:03] Maverick Grunfeld: That's what it boils down to.
[2010/08/15 20:03] sabreman Cartauld: Not really.
[2010/08/15 20:03] sabreman Cartauld: Youre looking at what we have copybotted, and what we have thats offensive.
[2010/08/15 20:03] sabreman Cartauld: except what we have copybotted was built by us.
[2010/08/15 20:03] sabreman Cartauld: and the "offensive" stuff isnt offensive.
[2010/08/15 20:03] sabreman Cartauld: example, the 'furry' being a pokemon.
[2010/08/15 20:04] Maverick Grunfeld: Sure, and I understand you there. Who made the copybot claim?
[2010/08/15 20:04] sabreman Cartauld: Who told you about us?
[2010/08/15 20:04] sabreman Cartauld: ;P
[2010/08/15 20:05] Maverick Grunfeld: Ah, well. In the spirit of communication, I and others didn't go there to hunt for copybotted material.
[2010/08/15 20:06] Maverick Grunfeld: Many of us are used to the old tactics of having a free for all weapons cache burried under a Longcat.
[2010/08/15 20:06] sabreman Cartauld: well someone said they were there to find copybotted stuff.
[2010/08/15 20:06] sabreman Cartauld: and we were like "Be our guest, we literally built this stuff"
[2010/08/15 20:06] Maverick Grunfeld: Ah, well, not from my side.
[2010/08/15 20:06] sabreman Cartauld: However, im interested in knowing what you were looking for (mostly because were so digustingly open with what we do, I doubt I would lie anyway)
[2010/08/15 20:07] sabreman Cartauld: and who turned you on to us. I mean I KNOW who did, But I like confirmation.
[2010/08/15 20:07] Maverick Grunfeld: Well, the SL group "Troll Manual" has been on the radar for sometime.
[2010/08/15 20:08] sabreman Cartauld: thats not us
[2010/08/15 20:08] sabreman Cartauld: Jesus
[2010/08/15 20:08] sabreman Cartauld: Dude, thats not us
Emphasis to eliminate confusion. The Troll Manual Group in game is not related in any way, to us over at the troll manual website.

Quote:
[2010/08/15 20:08] Maverick Grunfeld: So there were a lot of interconnected pieces
[2010/08/15 20:08] Maverick Grunfeld: Don't worry
[2010/08/15 20:08] sabreman Cartauld: ive never even heard of that group
[2010/08/15 20:08] Maverick Grunfeld: I figured that out
[2010/08/15 20:08] Maverick Grunfeld: But there was a common tie though, both have an AV in common. For the most part though, we sorted that out.
[2010/08/15 20:09] sabreman Cartauld: OH GODAMNIT
[2010/08/15 20:09] sabreman Cartauld: JUNIPER?
[2010/08/15 20:09] sabreman Cartauld: Dude, we HATE her
[2010/08/15 20:09] Maverick Grunfeld: Common thread.
[2010/08/15 20:09] sabreman Cartauld: hardly
[2010/08/15 20:09] sabreman Cartauld: That girl e-fucked her way into being mildly associated with us
[2010/08/15 20:10] sabreman Cartauld: starting that group is so typical of her wanting to be included.
[2010/08/15 20:10] sabreman Cartauld: Anyway
[2010/08/15 20:10] sabreman Cartauld: Go on. cuz im still curious
[2010/08/15 20:10] Maverick Grunfeld: I know, it didn't make much sense to me either.
[2010/08/15 20:10] Maverick Grunfeld: Sort of overnight, going from being in the background to being more upfront.
[2010/08/15 20:11] Maverick Grunfeld: Anyway, my point is, we keep our eyes open and our ears perked for this sort of thing. We're a visible group that does security. We're going to hear things and try to research them down, from whatever sources we can get our hands on.
[2010/08/15 20:13] sabreman Cartauld: I would suggest that from now on, before you write our name on "List of people to bother", you would make sure that research is sound. That kind of behavior is bad
[2010/08/15 20:13] sabreman Cartauld: But seriously.
[2010/08/15 20:13] sabreman Cartauld: SOMETHING had to happen
[2010/08/15 20:13] sabreman Cartauld: for you to start in on us NOW.
[2010/08/15 20:13] sabreman Cartauld: everything has its ultimate catalyst. I wanna know what it was
[2010/08/15 20:15] Maverick Grunfeld: I don't know what you're quite poking at me here to reveal. Basically it boils down a sense of escalation. There was a lot of things out there that was drawing attention.
[2010/08/15 20:16] sabreman Cartauld: what im getting at is who came to you saying "Theyre meeeeaaaan", if any, and if you cant tell me, then tell me if i was on the right track before.
[2010/08/15 20:16] sabreman Cartauld: with who i hinted at it being
[2010/08/15 20:18] Maverick Grunfeld: You know I'm not going to throw anybody under the batmobile here either. We have a variety of sources we ping.
[2010/08/15 20:18] Maverick Grunfeld: And for that matter ping us.
[2010/08/15 20:18] sabreman Cartauld: Okay then
[2010/08/15 20:19] Maverick Grunfeld: I do say that if you're being accurate with the RL disclosure, that does cross the line. I think any rationale person will have to agree with that.
[2010/08/15 20:20] Maverick Grunfeld: It has been done to multiple people over the years and it doesn't help anyone out in the end.
[2010/08/15 20:20] Maverick Grunfeld: We both know some in that boat.
[2010/08/15 20:20] sabreman Cartauld: No shit. Luek and watch her. she does it constantly.
[2010/08/15 20:22] Maverick Grunfeld: I got to wonder though, what is your end goal here?
This is such a weird question.

Quote:
[2010/08/15 20:22] Maverick Grunfeld: How do you see it playing out?
[2010/08/15 20:22] sabreman Cartauld: WIth what specifically? and further, are you aware of who i am?
[2010/08/15 20:22] sabreman Cartauld: I know i, specifically, am on your radar.
[2010/08/15 20:23] Maverick Grunfeld: I'm talking the whole basket of angry wet kittens.
[2010/08/15 20:23] sabreman Cartauld: Well, i dunno. our end goal of ahern? or troll manual?
[2010/08/15 20:23] Maverick Grunfeld: All of the above.
[2010/08/15 20:24] sabreman Cartauld: End goal of ahern, we already beat ahern. Game over there.
[2010/08/15 20:25] sabreman Cartauld: Troll Manual? Not everything needs a purpose or a goal. Some things exist just exist, or pass time.
[2010/08/15 20:25] Maverick Grunfeld: Hm, I have a hard time accepting that. Things that take resources, energy, and time become investments.
I get weirded out again, because essentially he's stating that he doesn't understand the concept of hobbies. o.O

Quote:
[2010/08/15 20:26] sabreman Cartauld: or tools.
[2010/08/15 20:26] Maverick Grunfeld: Exactly.
[2010/08/15 20:26] sabreman Cartauld: We could lose Trollmanual and what would happen? we'd still be brilliant people.
[2010/08/15 20:26] sabreman Cartauld: im kidding dude.
[2010/08/15 20:26] Maverick Grunfeld: No doubt.
[2010/08/15 20:26] sabreman Cartauld: its not a tool
[2010/08/15 20:26] Maverick Grunfeld: Hm, a history is a tool.
[2010/08/15 20:26] sabreman Cartauld: I was playing into your suggestion of this cryptic use or of it
[2010/08/15 20:27] Maverick Grunfeld: I guess my point is, things escalate. Soon its a scripting respository
[2010/08/15 20:27] sabreman Cartauld: Trollmanual is just nothing. its pointless. it means nothing. And so many people get so serious of it. Its almost accidently brilliant
[2010/08/15 20:27] Maverick Grunfeld: Does this thing morph into a new age PN
a constant barrage of stupidity. He's worried that our supergay wiki will eventually house greifer scripts...through absolutetly no evidence whatsoever that a glorified internet hate book would end up being a well organized attack HQ.

Quote:
[2010/08/15 20:27] sabreman Cartauld: Thats what you guys are worried about?
[2010/08/15 20:27] sabreman Cartauld: us turning into PN?
[2010/08/15 20:28] Maverick Grunfeld: I'm not worried about it happening in my personal opinion. The tactics are different.
[2010/08/15 20:28] Maverick Grunfeld: But, the point remains, things can and do escalate.
[2010/08/15 20:28] Maverick Grunfeld: Human nature
[2010/08/15 20:29] sabreman Cartauld: I wouldnt disagree, but i dont yet see the problem or what youre getting at
[2010/08/15 20:30] Maverick Grunfeld: My point is I understand your perspective and the history you gave me.
[2010/08/15 20:31] Maverick Grunfeld: And regardless of having an objective of sorts in your approaches, other folks have gotten hit by stray bullets from time to time.
[2010/08/15 20:31] sabreman Cartauld: I assure you, we have very good aim.
[2010/08/15 20:31] sabreman Cartauld: Not a single casualty that didnt bring it on themselves.
[2010/08/15 20:31] Maverick Grunfeld: Better than most, I'll give you that.
[2010/08/15 20:31] Maverick Grunfeld: Oh, I imagine. I can see soembody opening that door, and the scope changing.
[2010/08/15 20:32] Maverick Grunfeld: So does it have a reasonable end is my point.
[2010/08/15 20:32] sabreman Cartauld: probably like all things on the internet, we will lose interest and it'll die.
[2010/08/15 20:32] sabreman Cartauld: But my god, we arent PN
[2010/08/15 20:32] Maverick Grunfeld: Ahern, as you put it, is done. Heck, your folks do dominate the area. They looked bored by the way.
[2010/08/15 20:32] Maverick Grunfeld: Obviously.
[2010/08/15 20:33] sabreman Cartauld: YOu seen it lately? its boring without us
[2010/08/15 20:33] Maverick Grunfeld: I didn't say you were.
[2010/08/15 20:33] Maverick Grunfeld: Ha, alright.
[2010/08/15 20:33] sabreman Cartauld: but go on
[2010/08/15 20:34] Maverick Grunfeld: My point is, at some point it needs to end. Let's face it.
[2010/08/15 20:34] Maverick Grunfeld: Otherwise it swirls forever or escalates without end.
[2010/08/15 20:36] sabreman Cartauld: and like i said, sometime it will. In the meantime, I have no scruples about writing about the people that cheat on their husbands online with dudes they try to get fired, or pixies who force their children to have sex with goats in real life, or people who need to be taken down a peg because they think they can say anything to anyone.
I absolutetly maintain that claim to this day.

[2010/08/15 20:37] sabreman Cartauld: most of them play SL
[2010/08/15 20:37] Maverick Grunfeld: And for some reason, Second Life does attract some.
[2010/08/15 20:37] Maverick Grunfeld: Yup.
[2010/08/15 20:37] sabreman Cartauld: wait though
[2010/08/15 20:37] sabreman Cartauld: you stil didnt tell me if you know who i am

[2010/08/15 20:39] sabreman Cartauld: and me?
[2010/08/15 20:39] Maverick Grunfeld: Come on. Really?
[2010/08/15 20:39] sabreman Cartauld: I dunno. This is jsut pure curiosity.
[2010/08/15 20:39] sabreman Cartauld: I dont know if you know exactly who i am
[2010/08/15 20:39] Maverick Grunfeld: Let's not cross that line, eh?

[2010/08/15 20:39] sabreman Cartauld: I mean whatever name you have me under in your wiki
[2010/08/15 20:40] sabreman Cartauld: Obviously, you understand that im SOMEONE of relevance to this issue.
[2010/08/15 20:40] Maverick Grunfeld: Naturally.
[2010/08/15 20:40] sabreman Cartauld: go on.
[2010/08/15 20:40] sabreman Cartauld: Say my name, daddy.
[2010/08/15 20:40] Maverick Grunfeld: Ha, I'll pass.
[2010/08/15 20:41] Maverick Grunfeld: Don't go that way, I'm not in the Goatse Lantern Core.
[2010/08/15 20:41] sabreman Cartauld: Speaking of, make sure they know too.
[2010/08/15 20:41] sabreman Cartauld: GLE was here and i THOUGHT he and I were cool
[2010/08/15 20:41] Maverick Grunfeld: He's not with them anymore by the way.
[2010/08/15 20:41] sabreman Cartauld: phft. jerk.
[2010/08/15 20:41] sabreman Cartauld: Okay, I gotta take off.
[2010/08/15 20:42] Maverick Grunfeld: Good conversation.
Not really. Interesting thing though, in my uncontrollable narcissism, I had asked if he knew who I was. That fact gets funny when you read the original TWH wiki leak.

That wasn't a button or anything, it was the name of a group in SL, the idea behind the group being that anyone who joined the group was saying "We opt out of your wiki, we do not give you permission to include us in it", which obviously they didn't take to heart.

Maybe the number quoted was the list of users that posted in those 15 pages?
