They have implemented and then withdrawn 'mesh-prep2' on the RCs twice now, I can't see them going ahead without that (it is called 'mesh-prep' after all) - or maybe they are hoping for third time lucky!

It's an Omega - and it is IMHO cr*p. Omega never respond to queries and I'm often having to remove and reattach to re-initiallise the scripts. I've had it from my first month in SL and it looks nice if nothing else.

Looks like the one i made for them. (prims only, i have nothing to do with their scripts or back end) Anyway lesson learned. No percentage/royalties deals without an rl legal contract. Based on the angry IMs I get it appears they may be mia.

If it is the one I made I can send you a replacement with mod for free Then you can find some other script system to drop in.

Thanks Ann - I do like the collar as I say, just a shame the scripting doesn't match. Our group all use the Omegas (of different styles) - they weren't cheap - but hopefully we'll switch to another make sometime.

Thanks for the kind offer, that would be nice - and if we do switch to something like Open Collar I could drop the scripts in then.

and they have nothing listed for RC channels this week yet. Personally from my experience in development, I feel that the August date for mesh can not be met and hope LL does the rational thing and pushes Mesh off to the late Fall. They need to get the Mono 2 stuff working. We really do not need buggy Mesh stuff pushed into production.

If they're going to roll it out, even slightly, does that mean they finalised the prim cost things that folks in the know have been talking about? If so, what has it been finalised to be - it all sounded very hard to work out.

I'm just waiting for the ability to make prims up to 64 metres, can't wait for that. total rebuild planned for my place.

Some stuff that is really happening --

LL is asking for volunteer private full regions to run the first Agni mesh stuff, there are lots of warnings that go with it, and a very specific filing process. Fill in the ticket wrong and you can't participate. It is probably good that the signup process is weird, because the testing is not risk free. The prim equivalency formula is still open to change during this test.

The backward compatibility stuff being tested this week is directly related to making the pilot possible, since the "final" mesh format likes to crash viewers more than a few weeks old.

Wow, I don't know where you got your information, but thank you for sharing it! I have submitted my ticket for my two regions

There has now been a "real" announcement for the mesh volunteer program. The Agni mesh sandbox regions have been created, but they are not live yet. There are additional warnings in the mesh sandbox group charter: "These regions may break everything you own. You might have deformed prim babies." This is serious business!

The first apparent mesh to be uploaded on MainGrid is a giant shiny black plastic duck:

That thing looks a bit scary to me!

But it does dispel the belief that LL doesn't give a duck about it's users.

I'm glad the first mesh uploaded on main grid isn't a penis.

Uploading to either grid now requires payment info on file and pass that grid's respective mesh quiz.

(And main grid's quiz is not yet available)

But you can re-activate beta grid's mesh uploading by doing the quiz here: http://t.co/fcgmTam

By the way, just a random tidbit in the quiz that might interest the folks that always say 'fullperm is fullperm':

"Even if an item in Second Life carries full permissions, other terms of use may apply to the item. Failing to abide by these posted terms is a violation of Linden Lab's policies and may result in infringement of intellectual property rights."
