Estates Connected to Mainland

There is a block of five estate sims attached to two Mainland snow sims (Adria & Braggiani). Is this a permanent arrangement? Are there others I haven't seen yet? Have LL finally realized the potential of allowing estate owners to bridge their continents to the Mainland? Does anybody here know?

Yes but the Blake Sea Project was a special one time only special case based on the need to keep that population inworld and be fair to them after raising homestead prices.

Perhaps this is also a case of preferential compensation. But I'm hoping the Lab are finally open to allowing any estate group to attach a bridge to a Mainland sim. I've been advocating that since 2006.

Both the Blake Sea and the GOHA snowland regions were part of the Community Partnership plans (well, technically, the Blake Sea is what led to the formation of the Community Partnership stuff).

They don't seem to be allowing it anymore: I know some of the airplane fans wanted to do much the same, and were told it was no longer an option. Too bad, really.

Maybe someone at LL spotted a good idea that'd been neglected?

At this point, Lionheart Estate is not connected to the mainland, though if I am remembering correctly, they want to at some point.

It's been there about a year now. The requirements include that you have a large stable SL community and own at least one sim. We've had a lot of fun with it, including helping with Winterfest which was a blast.

I'm not sure on the plans for the Community Partnerships as far as if it's still an option for new ones, but you can try this link:
Linden Lab Official:Community Partnership Program - Second Life Wiki

From the Wiki:

Quote:
The Community or Group should have clearly defined purpose or theme
It should be a stable community with clear leadership to represent it
As a Community or Group, it should have been active within Second Life for at least a year
The Group and its Owners/leaders must be in good standing with Linden Lab
Must be accepting and open to new users and not exclusive or closed
The Group must own at least one full Region of Group Land that is open and accessible to the majority of Residents
It will help if you have active social network outside of Second Life; a web page, Group MySpace, Twitter, YouTube account are a few examples.
