mine has certainly grown - well, until the next product release anyway lol..

I occasionally follow various people/organisations and some of them follow me back - then I have to drop them a note telling them to unfollow me as the next product post I make will make their eyes water.

The funniest was the london transport museum, bless them. somehow I really didn't think they'd appreciate my feed lol

btw Psyke, with your next release if you haven't already done so can you add a bit to the update failure message pointing people to the status/blog page to see if there are any issues? I got caught a couple of months ago if you remember and I had completely forgotten about the website.

Psyke, yours was the first and only security product I ever bought in SL. The personal security band was a hidden treasure (wear a pretty bracelet that keeps people you don't want near you as far away as you want no matter where you are - a virtual restraining order for stalkers).

I have to admit that once in 2006 I abused the security orbs. The Voted 5 was doing their rounds attacking mainland clubs. Our hired security and Linden Lab employees couldn't stop them. They used the road in front of the venue to stay and noise and object spam us. The Governance Team was actually trying to reason with them. This is before LL had a zero tolerance for these guys.

I owned both sides of the street - So I added the names of all of the greifers to two orbs and placed them on either side of the street set at 100% push. And watched the V5 stuck midair over the Linden road getting pushed back and forth for 4 hours. They filed an AR against us for abusing the features of the security devices - but it was worth it.

I had the details from a cached version.

The previous address was probably a friend, as you say.

I cannot get to that page unless I use Tor. That probably means that whatever ip address or domain being used is in my host file or firewall.

My real life name and $ transaction history with LL comes up, so yes, theoretically RL information may have been breached.

I have never heard a story like that I do recall the days of multi-region pushes. That was pretty amazing. Wow! Did they cut that back to nothing tho. Interesting story.

Push now is completely useless or so I thought. I got a IM one day, a person was telling me that Push in an old Orb was doing exactly what they needed but the new versions weren't. I was puzzled as to why the old version was still successful. (Turned out large push values were softer than medium values, but I digress.)

Turns out the Orb was protecting a boxing ring from spectators who were not fighting. Because the proximity was so close, Push was still viable as a way to send them back to the crowd.

And to think I had almost removed Push for it being useless. This is one reason why I try to leave all options in the Orb because I have no idea what everyone may need or why.

Then anyone is next.
We don't know everything that LL was able to discover about his activities, and we never will, unless he were charged with a crime. They have the means to discover if he actually DID attempt to use passwords to sign in on others' accounts.

He probably wouldn't be able to shed much light on his banning. Don't most folks get the generic email about having broken the TOS? I remember Arabella posting hers, and it was very general.

If he broke rl laws, I wouldn't expect him to reveal that, for sure.

Regardless of the reason for the ban, LL won't reveal the details. They don't do that for anyone except the account holder.

it tells you which rule you broke, what region (if any) and then some words on what you actually did. They didn't used to tell you what you actually did, but folks wouldn't stop e-mailing them until they relented.

Sorry if this has been suggested before. But...

I've set the landing point inside the magic box, so I can easily record your uuid when you arrive. I remove it from the arrivals list when you agree to whatever conditions I've imposed. I also call llGetObjectDetails every 30 seconds or so, checking on where people are who're on my list of people waiting to be allowed access, and if I find you're on the sim but not in my box, I tp you home. Would that not work?

Uber Goth
Tie-dye and broom skirts
Old-woman style "track suit."
Rennie clothing

Does it? The only one I've seen is that reproduced by Arabella Steadham, when she was banned:

Quote:

I understand from an inside source that it was actually an AR by Iam Spartacus that triggerd the final purge.

I've got to the stage of Following where the timeline is constantly popping up new stuff.
There is a manic urge to follow everyone mentioned so that I'm not trying to work out what's going on from seeing just one side of a conversation.
If I follow them, then I start to get those people's half-conversations.
It's an exponentially growing Tower of Babble (sic).

Followers are building too, and I resist the temptation to retweet.
