Machinima: "Moonlit Sonata"

Dimitrio Lewis Media published its first studio project this week, the movie Moonlit Sonata, starring Cricket Rossini and Sansarya Caligari.

The studio identity more accurately reflects the collaborative nature of the production process, identifying that the work is the result of multiple contributors.

This movie is presented in Dolby Digital 5.1 for true immersion, and hence establishes a new standard in audio for Second Life machinima.

I'm very happy with how this turned out, and I hope you enjoy it.

It is available to view online (with mono sound) at the following websites:

blip.tv - http://blip.tv/file/585001

machinima - http://machinima.com/film/view&id=24152

youtube -

However, the movie is best enjoyed in high resolution with 5.1 sound.

It is distributed as an MPEG-II bitstream compatible with all dvd software and many standalone players, and can be downloaded here: http://www.bservice.org/vids/MPEG-2/

Additionally, a high resolution WMV with stereo soundtrack can be downloaded at: http:// blip.tv/file/get/Dimitrio-MoonlitSonata186.wmv

OUTTAKES
========

A compilation of outtake clips has been created and can be downloaded at: http:// www .bservice.org/vids/Moonlit%20Sonata%20Outtakes.wmv

It is also available to view on youtube:

That's awesome Dimitrio. I loved it, and that is one of my favorite pieces of music.

Dimitrio, that was wonderful! What a beautiful tribute to a great piece of music. Your camera work was incredible and the edits were perfect. Great job!

Oh, and thank you so much for featuring my piano so prominently. I am honored to have my work included. I need to send you an updated piano though ... the version you used is several back ... but it still came out lovely.

Thank you Dimitrio!

Watching this reminded me of how far we've come, that with SL, each of us has the potential to become another tiny Pixar.

Few would be able to do it with such skill as this, though. Fantastic work, Dimitrio. I almost felt like getting up out of my theatre seat, putting on my coat, and shuffling through the dropped popcorn as the final credits rolled.

That's the thing that keeps me hooked on SL..the sheer creative ability of the tools, which in the right hands can work miracles.
