| ZF Redzone, Disclosure of SecondLife Alts. Hi, it's been awhile, I would just like to ask who is truly concerned about this product on Xstreet now more than ever. Please Lets not turn this into a big Slandering Debate, or a Flame, or /B/ Comments, but a real topic about who does, or does not like it. https://www.xstreetsl.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=1175 807 I would like to list the good things this product does. 1. Detects Copybotters, Can be bypassed, but works to some point. 2. Detects Griefers Alts. The Bad Things. 1. Logs Peoples IP without consent, and detects Alts. This wouldn't be bad if it were griefers only, but it also creates a Database, which anyone can find out what alts are yours when you don’t want people to know, and can screw you over in game, and as far as I know this is against SL TOS when you disclose information, although its outside of Second Life. Some Examples. 1. Ex. SL Boyfriends stalking you in SL. 2. One of your Alts is a Stripper/Dancer, and you don’t want people to find out, but they do, and they kick you from one of their groups for it. 3. You just don’t want people to know because it’s your right to privacy. I generally Like ZF redzone more than CDS, because the creator of the system actually talked to me before unlike Skills Hak, or their team with CDS, which I have been abused, had my alts illegally tracked by IP and added to their list even though it will be denied, as I have tested this by using an Alt that never touched anything but regular Second Life within proximity of their system, and waited about a week and it was banned manually. Although this is personal preference. It has also been said to me in world that systems like this, have made Mistakes on banning residents because they used a viewer that was custom compiled, very few changes made to it, or because their viewer was not added to the system, It has also been said that the Second Life economy is not doing that good because a lot of people no longer want to shop, I know I don’t shop anymore in Second Life, except places I contact the owners first and see if they use any systems there, or friends I know who don’t use these type of things. ( I still believe Linden Lab should ban the use of Ban Link Systems from Second Life). I would not really mind such systems if they showed me a privacy policy to accept, or decline each time, or a Warning before I enter a region using such in Second Life, but there is none. So in general, who doesn't like this system now, because anyone can find out their alts, anyone feel that this isn't right, and violates their Second Life rights? |

My Mood:  SL Join Date: 2004/2005 Client: c0ff33   | Products like this do not work. Anyone can make any viewer bypass this crap if they really wanted to. Waste of money and doesn't really work. Not to mention there is still outstanding proof on youtube that CDS and ZF Red Zone are crap and anyone can copybot or do what ever they please to a sim they are in. Do not waste your time and money on them and instead just get a couple good estate managers or what not.

| This stuff bugged the hell out of me, so I fixed it enough for me, so now you can In Emerald, "edit" -> "Preferences" -> "Audio and Video" uncheck "Automatically Play Media" uncheck "Let Scripts control my media" optionally check "Turn off media when you change parcels" then you can enjoy media , and just use the "play" an "stop" buttons whenever you feel appropriate. |
