Great job, Backfire Zoo .

But good to see that the .com domain is now active.

I'm not sure how you'd apply md5 to this. All you need is [useful information deleted].

He is passing all details via visible parameters to the one php script. If he only used the media stream to pass say the MD5 value of the time of day and parcel name he could send the rest of the info from the RZ object itself and compare MD5 values to link the ip address to the avatar.

Anyway I am going to shut up now I don't want to give him ideas.

MD5 is overkill there, because there's no data that needs protection. All he needs is [useful information deleted].

I'm a little unclear about the sequence, but I think -- at least according to this -- that, whatever he thought he was fixing, he managed to break something else in the process: RedZone Partially Broken « no2redzone

Ann's theory that, in fact, he secretly works for LL suddenly became a lot more convincing.

It's a bit late to use a smokescreen. The grid is aware of the contents.

I don't see how LL benefits from this. They already have all the information RZ collects.

Well as iSellSL.com is apparently a registered business entity, I guess there is another vector for complaints:

Insanity Productions | Better Business Bureau Review

Or maybe not? I'm unacquainted with American data protection legislation, but from what I've heard so far it's pretty crappy compared to ours on this side of the Atlantic.

I've only heard of the BBB before due to complaints about LL and figured it's kind of like our Trading Standards?

Right, belated question:

Uncheck “enable streaming music”, “enable streaming media” and also “automatically play streaming media” in the settings. Disable Voice, too. Also do not allow scripts to control your media settings.
Are there any security issues with Voice? I had been under the impression that, unlike streaming media, all such communication went through LL servers, not outside ones.

Must have the rl business name and address to file a complaint. Would love to have the rl name and address of that business.

I'm pretty sure it was shown that Phox used voice as an attack vector during all the Onyx hoo har.

I have seen allegations that voice IM is peer-peer, or includes peer-peer messages in the setup. I haven't actually studied the protocol, but don't see the benefits worth the risk.

Insanity Productions LLC is his business and he seems to have linked it to isellsl.com so I'm assuming it's not TMI for this forum or anything. Did you see this yet?

Yeah, the voice streams go through the vivox servers. You can also find screenshots of the SL vivox admin panel that allows you to listen in to all sorts of voice streams, locations and IPs. The screenshots were not made by LL. Actually, links to some of those have been dropped in this very thread.

I stand corrected, re: Voice! Just as well that I never use it.

(I tried it once, when it was in beta, which was enough to convince me that [a] the technology itself was pretty cool, and [b] it would radically alter my SL experience in ways I didn't like.)

Complaining to the BBB is a waste of time. It is a voluntary, non-govermental, organization which only means something if you belong to it and care.
