Firestorm Preview 2 won't be ready by the end of the month. The radar functionality isn't done yet, and that's the showstopper. It'll be ready as soon as we can get it that way. (And I'll do my dead level best to get the media filter into it.)

That's independent of the Phoenix release schedule, though. That one's waiting mainly on some bugfixes, and especially some attempt at fixing what's turned out to be a performance problem hitting many MacBook Pro users (but doesn't affect my MBP, dammit). We want to get Phoenix out as soon as we can so we can get the media filter out to the userbase at large.

holo, Im new here, but follwed this talk for along time now. I own 2 popular clubs for many yrs now, and was wanting to buy rz to keep out the crazees. all this talk tho about the rz being broken is deconcertin. I even am reading the blog you see in this title, and am thinkin that you guyz are gettin the raw deal. if I want to use this ting why shouldnt I? I have all the rights to keep out the crazees dont I? I think if a person who logs in and hits the tp, they must be agreeing to me to know who they are, right? if they are one of the coopibutters or one of the greifers I hear so much about, and have my own self seen lot of them, they are the ones breaking the laws, not me. Im just trying to make my share of the money that everyone else here iz. I think Id pay zefer lots of money for the password to the db, wouldnt you too? I think if you guyz say the rz still works fine, Ill go buy one right now.

That's good to know. I do like V2 but don't use it because the lack of the radar. I tried Firestorm and was happy to see great improvement but without that radar is not enough to make me a full time V2 convert.

If one's need for land security is that great, set it to Group access only and have the group invite only.

If one is running a store, unfortunately opening a space to the public will always allow a certain percentage of undesirable people in. Same holds true in RL. Redzone in no way prevents theft from happening, because if it can be rezzed, it can be copied. The sense of security Redzone offers is a false one.
