Well, it is possible.

Technically.

Like, if you'd convert the feed into a streaming video on the fly and show that to the user instead of the actual game.

Of course it'd be really slow, annoying, and kill off SL pretty... instantly

Fucklife? Can't be done. It simply has the version string edited, to my knowledge, but sends out the same clothing protection texture as cryolife, so..same tag. Not that it makes a difference, really, given that they are the same client.

Sadly the exporting can't be prevented server side. What they could do is log activities where prims get rapidly 'manually' rezzed by the client, but with more and more low-prim sculpted content that ironically needs a lower and lower threshold. That and there are of course ways around it which I can imagine off the top of my head. What they -should- do is go after reported copybotters with a bigger ban/legal hammer.

I've always wondered how Emerald's viewer tags worked... And still kinda wonder why CoolVL and Cool/Rainbow aren't detected...

Yup, basically the tag system uses the 'placeholder' texture IDs that get sent out by the clothing protection system. If you turn clothing protection off, you don't show up with a special tag anymore.
