Linden Lab Brighton Offices move upwards

My local daily newspaper (The Argus) had this little piece yesterday - I can't find an online copy on their site - but it looks like someone at the Lab have learnt how to build above 30 metres.

Quote:
Lab goes large

A world-renowned media company has moved into bigger offices.

The team at Linden Labs,[sic] the developer behind the hugely successful Second Life online world, has relocated from the 3rd to the 9th floor of Tower Point in Brighton.

A spokeswoman for the company said the move offered more space for growth
You can find them here tower point brighton - Google Maps . Last November they were in the same paper in an Article about the lack of good office space suitable for hi-tech usage, in Brighton, supposedly the UK new media capital with the rather derivative tag of "Silicon Beach".

The building is a tired 1960/70's office block built on the site of The Grand Theatre Brighton which burnt down in a fire .

Predicted response: "It's just a sign of the recession - apparently, renting office space has become cheap enough to be affordable for Linden Lab."

Linden Labs,[sic]
The moment they opened up a second set of offices somewhere, they unofficially became plural anyway.

They probably think they'll get a better signal by moving to the 9th floor?

Wait a sec, don't the British start with a ground floor and then the first floor, second floor etc.?
Does that mean they sit on the roof?

Apologies for coming to this a bit late, but this was their old office in Brighton:

I had been drinking in the pub opposite for quite some time before I realised what the salubrious premises across the road held inside. To help potential visitors (read ‘irate customers’) identify this impressive suite of offices, there is an SL ‘Eye’ sticker on the same window as the No Smoking sign.

I hope they remember to turn off cloud rendering while at work.

I considered going to the Uni of Sussex when younger, but one of the main things that put me off was Brighton. I know Brighton has a lot going for it; I particularly love the liberal attitude there, but I have this thing about the asthetics of towns and cities, and I guess I've never really found that traditional british seaside look to be very attractive. And I *hate* the royal pavillion - not so much the building itself (tho still not a huge fan), but how it fits in (or not) within its environment.

Absolutely love the nearby downs, though.

The downs are wonderful especially if you live on them

If I owned those shops I'd put up a mega-prim wall to cover up that mugly build across the street. I'd put turtles on my side, I like turtles. I'd also take a photo of the mugly office building and put it on their side.

Get a telephoto camera and aim it over there. Jack is the guy you see drinking fine wine, laughing about people bitching about search, and giving you the bird.
