Thanks. After the Herald Editor sold out to Linden Lab and became Wallace Linden these documents were no longer available for download by the Herald. I'll take a copy and add them to my Linden Lolz folder.

Reading the wiki, it seems like Battle of the Attention Whores more than good versus evil.

The JLU wannabies got the direct downloads in rapidshare & co taken down, so this mirror may be gone soon. But you can also get the full 100MB archive as torrent. It's called JLU Wiki - 2010-10-14.rar. It's thousands of pages of garbage and chat/IM logs and you need some grep/search tool if you want to make any sense out of it.

No. Walker Spaight. I don't remember exactly his Herald position, however, but I know he was associated with that group.

Here he is on his old blahg

"I call it purring, not growling," said Alice.

"Call it what you like," said the Cat.

"Managing Editor" but Prok says owner. I thought the owner was that professor guy involved with croquet (alternative virtual world) but it all runs together after a while like a spaghetti western so I have no idea who owns what.

As usual, I have no clue what any of this is about. I guess because I know no history.

I looked at some of the wiki docs and was even more mystified. (And I rarely understand anything Prok writes.)

There was mention on page 1,126 sub-section L, that in 2005 you once rezzed a prim in a mall and did not retrieve it. The horror.

Now that's pretty interesting.

This gives him access to our communications system, and the ability to wear and use the avatar key logger in the commlink (which he uses in full knowledge of what it does) and the ability to use the Brainiac Mini terminal he now wears on his right shoulder.

At one point he was also is a member of the GLC/JLU Tactical Group and could see and respond to messages there. However, in the interests of complete transparency and equanimity towards all groups, he relinquished his membership in this group.

Plexus was made a part of the Linden Maintenance Group on Nov. 8, 07, and was a forthcoming and valuable asset to the Justice League, frequently volunteering information relevant to the anti-griefer work we do.
Communication with Plexus has been less frequent, as with all GTeam members. However, he has been known to respond to JLU IM's dealing with specific griefing situations.

Plexus usually provides a talk to new Green Lantern Core classes.

I used to have a hard time finishing Prok's blog, much less understanding it. Then I wrote a program that eliminates all the adjectives (e.g., "witless fluffers"), made-up words (e.g., "fluffers"), any allusion to Marxism or class warfare (e.g., "Bolsheviks come in to kill off people they see as backwards peasants"), and any sentence more than 4 clauses long. It removes all references to drama more than 2 years old and then randomly deletes half of what remains. It makes me feel better about the world and, on occasion, there are some good points made in what remains.

Well if I only had to read 2 sentences after the final product like you, I could understand it too!

Walker and Peter Ludlow (philosophy professor at U of M) started it during the Sims Online, and it morphed into SL once the drama at TSO died down. They took a rather hands-off approach to it.

So this is a group that somehow combats griefing? (Gee that kinda sounds like fun!)

And they were a secret group but now are not?

I gotta wonder tho, did Plexus actually *do* anything that could have made a big difference?

It seems to me like it's more of a big slapfight than anything else ~ as long as I'm not actually finding myself associated with PN or Woodbury or whomever, it's kinda hard to get really worked up about what some random 19 year old does.

At some point, posting a sign that says "Hey you damn kids, get of my lawn!" is going to initiate more problems than no sign at all. Nothing builds griefer group legitimacy more quickly than an 'official response'...

* * * * *

Maybe we need some kind of venue for all this authoritarian/anti~authoritarian angst.

Would it be legal to set up the Stanford Prison Experiment in SL? We could all root for various noobs, and televise it... it would be like American Idol, only for griefers and their foes.
