The sim next to mine was recently sold and new owners set up shop. Well that was all fine and good, and I being the curious cat, went to explore and see what kind of shops they had set up. Because it was wiccan and pagan themed, I called Wynternight from VampArt to come over and have a look with me thinking she might enjoy having a peek. We wandered around and talked openly, we were the only ones in the sim (this is mainland btw) so we were being candid in our appraisal. Ok, so we weren't the kindest in our remarks, but we weren't like "ZOMG wtf were they thinking" or worse. It was more along the lines of "that's crudely done" and "those were taken from the web can you spell copyright infringement".

Well, that was a few weeks ago. Today I thought I was hearing voices in the headphones, and found it odd, because I've been having trouble with voice on my Linux install, so for the time being have disabled it. I walked around one corner of the sim and deduced the sound was a repeating vocal thing, ergo it must be from a prim. Nope, not on my sim, so as I walked closer to the new neighbors, the sound got louder. "Ahhh must be something they set up in their store, I'll go have a look".....

Sure enough, I r banned, and so is Wynternight. Hmmm....IM one of the owners that I can see visibly....no response. Make notecard, drop on profile, instant decline. Crap, I've been muted...now I go ...WTF?? Have never said hello or boo to each other, what gives? So yeah, put on the Sherlock cap and deduce that they had chat loggers set up around the store and didn't like what they read. Part of me sez "oh noes Caspy, dun let them get away with it" and another part goes "f*ck 'em, let them have their SL, and good luck trying to make tier with those goods"

Sometimes being denied a good argument is excruciating, like a never ending pee pee dance.

It seems apparent that any dialogue with them would be as useful as putting turds in the freezer for insulation so probably a blessing.

I've often made comments in pub-chat after arriving at the LM of a shop or sim hating on the flood of popup menus and bot greetings. because I assume that many shop or mall owners have hidden chat loggers. I've only been banned a couple of times that I'm aware of.

Dare I ask what sim it was? I have some interest in Wicca & Pagan sims.

This has happened to me in some stores before.

I ended up using an alt to contact them and point blank said "give me an honest reason as to why I was banned, and I won't proceed with an AR for chat logging yadda yadda". Now I realize that really there is not much I can do, although I did find the chat logger hidden in some wind chimes and took a snap of it in edit mode. The response I got back from them was very odd...apparently the one I contacted was not the one who did the banning or had all the bugs and orbs set up around the place. I never did hear from that one but the other said "please leave us alone, I didn't want to get involved in this, I wanted no part in this". At that point I'm thinking I have nutball neighbors and to back away slowly so as not to spook them and cause panic as they may harm themselves running into walls.

People can do whatever they like on their sims and I have no problem with that, I just wanted some dialogue and a chance to say "you're reciprocally banned, have a nice day".
