Today we had the first reported case of a successful AR for Adult content outside of an Adult Area, since the new Adult Rules came into force on 15th Sep. The details are as follows :


Date: Monday, September 21, 2009
Violation: Community Standards: Indecency, Adult Content
Region: Bird Seychelles
Description: Indecency:Adult content outside of Adult region
Action taken: Warning issued.


Of course there are numerous reasons for an AR being taken out so I can only hazard a guess as to the full nature of this but until today , Bird Seychelles was a Mature rated region which is now Adult rated , it also contains two publicly advertised parcels called "FREE SEX LAND ! >>> EARN MONEY (Mall Brasil Escort xxx bdsm)" and "SEX,SEX,SEX,SEX,SEX,SEX,SEX"

The descriptions for both parcels contain many Adult Word triggers.

Since the beginning of the month, I've been capturing all reported AR incidents on the SL blotter (Second Life | Community: Incident Report) . Later I'll be making this database available for querying , the official report only shows the last 25 incidents . My database should hold all reports from the 3rd of September onwards and is cross linked with my region database so people will be able to see the prosecuted AR history of any region, as well as the types of AR which take place. To date the most common is "Terms of Service : Identity Confirmation" , implying that LL do take lack of obvious RL information in accounts seriously.

I've got second hand info on someone who was banned for having adult content in her profile. I don't know how long the ban was for, nor if she was warned prior.

There was one reported incident this month on 10th of September for "Indecency:Global Standards: Profile" where a warning was issued , but no suspension mentioned - Though the case you mention may have been before I started logging .

Or I may have misunderstood and it was a warning not a suspension. I know it was about a profile issue.

I didn't know, until then, that all profiles need be PG.

Then in the Blondin discussion last week it was hinted that only the first 2 tabs matter.

Who knows. It's one reason I submitted the Jira for an adult profile flag.

This is just my opinion, Sarah, so take it for what it's worth. But LL's policy was mostly directed at commercial establishments that advertise sexual activities (or violence, like rape RP). I see skin vendors covering nipples all the time now, and they don't show pubes on the ads. But that might also be their own caution since LL can sometimes be inconsistent in policy interpretations.

If you know anyone on the G-team, maybe you could IM them and ask them to come over and give you their take so you can avoid future problems. In view of the nature of your store and the positive value it offers Second Life, I have to think they would be more than willing to help you out.

You should only need that level of caution on a PG sim, not a Mature sim. If I cover up the nipples on my poster vendors the skins will get musty!

People have been in trouble (on the blotter, warned, suspended) over profiles as long as I have been in SL because you are not allowed to put anything over PG in your profile. Which, from a technical perspective, means LL should never have allowed any picks to be made on non PG parcels/regions. But that would break their precious gaming of profiles to game the search relevance. ruh roh.
