She makes the standard evil forum clown antics here look like child's play. Her poison pen cuts like a knife and everyone seems to hold grudges that last a lifetime.

Her claim to fame is being banned from the SL forums - and then publishing a memo leaked out of Linden Lab where the founder, Philip Linden, directed his staff to find anyway they could to ban her. Then Philip had to issue a public apology.

This time a griefer group (Woodbury University) that has grief builds adjacent to her mainland residential community went to the annual Second Life Convention in San Francisco this year, got on a party bus, went to the main offices of Linden Lab and wrote 'Ban Prok' on the wall. Pictures of Linden Lab employees shaking hands with the griefers and claims that Philip allowed them to deface the LL office building circulated and Prok blogged wildly about it.

Then the OP here (Immy) blogged and posted all over about being banned from Prok's land because she was a member of that griefer group. Prok also blogged about Immy's NCI affiliation and suggested that she not be allowed to keep her NCI Officer status if she decided to be a member of the Woodbury University Group.

Then the Woodburries started going onto Prok's land and killing her chickens......

And here we are.

Oh, just some venomous little harpy with waaaaaaay too much time on her hands. Some of her nerd-rages are kinda funny to laugh at, but ultimately nothing new. Her reputation makes her sound more interesting than she actually is. You're not missing anything.

Also a hero of the resident prok asslicker, bladyblue, for some unknown reason.

I saw this mentioned another time.

I missed this. I do remember it was Pathfinder in the IRC channel... with a lead pipe.

Or Col. Mustard in the Library.

I get things confused though..

Prok as a role model I suspect. If Blady is the avatar claimed then she's already had the same drama as Prok, only not so high profile (in fact pretty well no profile) and with very little long term fallout.

I would think she's just picking up tips for her next seek and destroy adventure.

Well, to give her her due, there's way more to her than that.

Back before mainland tanked and Elianthus pulled out, Prokofy Neva was the third largest mainland estate owner. No idea how things stand now. Inworld, Prokofy is a tall guy with a sharp tongue; RL Prokofy is a middle (or past middle) aged woman with a sharp tongue. S/he has had an extremely outspoken blog called Second Thoughts for years. Prokofy also runs inworld discussions on interesting topics once a week; not well attended when I dropped in a few times. Intelligent, well-spoken and aggressive, Prokofy can drown out any 10 folks in a discussion. She has hatreds that many find incomprehensible ... technologists, several folks posting on this thread including me, lalala ... and she never forgets them. S/he is also the inventor of the infamous FIC (feted inner core) list: compiled yearly, the list purports to include those who enjoyed favoritism from LL. Prok seems tired of it now, but like her, it's an institution that many would miss were it to disappear. S/he is banned from SLU, the SL Forums, the pJira, and god knows where else. Since s/he cannot respond here (except as an alt, and Prok never admits to her alts), it is somewhat unfair to discuss her foibles.

When was this? I don't think that ever happened.

From what I remember .. quite clearly ..

It was PATHFINDER, not Philip

and it was a IRC conversation with some SL oldtimers not a corporate memo.

They also had something about Jeska wanting Prok gone, but they didn't have anything apology worthy on her.

Prok is the original reason for the Forums/In World Ban though, they used that as a stick to keep her quiet when they finally did forums ban her.

I think the game in use here is "Operator" as in the one where you whisper a story down a line of kids and it gets all twisted out of proportion at the end.

It was Pathfinder in the IRC channel, with murmurs of Jeska.

Pathfinder was the main forums mod, among other things, Jeska was the backup.

Pathfinder stopped being a forums mod shortly after that.

Your the one that did not know that Linden Lab bans group members based on activities of a few. Your head may be too far up your ass for you to know what has occurred in the last 5 years.

I am not sure calling Prok the queen of the evil forum clowns is all that accurate.

At least not in content. Quantity sure, she can write more, faster, than any species of troll in the SL community.

But if you really sift through the context all of Prok's rants in an actual forums thread she is actually quite repetitive. Ironic that. Considering this thread...

None of that is in any way interesting though. She bought some pixels and rants too much about pixels.

I don't understand why she is so famous in this isolated little metaverse that most people dont even know exists. I don't see what the fuss is about. I can feel the units of my life being wasted with even this small bit of attention to her, so it's hard for me to understand why other people see her as something special. She's a generic internet asshole - as sad, as lonely, and as mental as a shithouse rat.

Except that I was ACTUALLY around for that debacle.

I remember it very well because I had a disagreement with Prok over Forums debates carrying over to inworld sanctions. Prok thought negrating people for their forums opinions was fair game. She was going after Aimee at the time.

I disagreed and ended up the subject of a few thousand words of Prokese in response. But again - ironic - mere days later, Prok was the initial impetus for Linden Lab's version of the In World Sanction for Forums activities.

---------------

And watch it with the "head up your ass" crap, bitch.

As far as I'm aware, from posts elsewhere, Blady and Prok are far from friends. So calling her a Prok fan or whatever is bollocks

Now, when Blady was going on about the infohub, I formed the Griefer Wall Supporters group on an alt... cause I felt she was wrong regarding that..

But I'm not one to disregard a message purely because of the messenger which is something I've seen bucketloads of in this thread

But in this instance (if we ignore the sidetracking about virtual rape or whatever the fuck) regarding the Woodbury NCI Prok Chicken Graffiti saga i do think she is in the right.

Yes Woodbury are a Griefer group, doesnt mean all its members are, I'm not saying Immy is, but yes Woodbury is a griefer group.

I have no issues with griefer groups... I was friends with several V5ers, and still know a few W Hats, but FFS, let's call a spade a spade.

Oh and Colette is right, it was Pathfinder who sent out the "Ban Prok" memo..

But the apology was from Philip. (I think)

So I can see where Blady got crossed wires on the Ps

I don't see how banning anyone just because of group membership is justified though. You are not responsible for the actions of other Residents.

And it is not like you are limited to one group, and since bans are rarely ALT specific, you could conceivably belong to 100's through Alts.

Group membership is usually a fairly casual thing in Second Life.

Oh, I thought the V5 mass banning was bullshit Colette... and yes I agree with you that guilt by association is generally unfair.

But, with the rules on operating welcome areas, and the history of things like the V5 banning, you can see why Carl would want NCI disassociated from Woodbury

The whole situation is a clusterfuck....

I want to publically apologize to Prokofy, to LL, and to all the Residents for my improper behavior. I assure you it will never happen again. I know actions speak louder than words, so I hope to prove my sincereness about this from now on in how I conduct myself both here, in SL itself, and on any 3rd party sites.

I have no excuses for my behavior, and will not try to justify my actions in any way. I just hope people believe me when I say that my true desire is to try and keep people focused on positive discussions in the forums and to prevent people from attacking each other. There is so much potential for positively shaping the evolution of SL here, and it saddens me beyond words when I see that rare opportunity wasted.

Please be good to each other.

Pissed off? Don't overstrain yourself jumping to conclusions like that. Here, in reality, there is no reason to be pissed off about someone’s imagination.

I'm not going anywhere. I'll delete you from my existence when I've had my fun at your expense. The problem with people like you is you actually believe your own hype. You lack the humour of a good troll, lack the grace of a good critic, and instead just come across as a bitter might-have-been. You're a joke. You have become a caricature of yourself, which makes it now impossible to feel the sympathy I had initially for you. Your bullshit makes me laugh out loud. By all means, keep posting.
