Mid-January 2007. Clearly a total noob without a brain then after a mere 2.5 years. I am frequently amazed that old people (sorry, that should be senior citizens) just LOVE to ramble on about... their age. It matters as much to them as it does to a kid saying 'I'm three and three-quarters and a bit'. My mother does it now. She just adores telling me how the dentist / man on the bus / whoever thinks she's wonderful (because she's just slipped it into conversation that she's VERY OLD). OK, she's great for her age but I keep wanting - evil vile child that I am - to say 'I'd rather be congratulated for other things than having been around for so long'. Acquired wisdom can be a wonderful thing. But some people acquire it without having been around longer than everybody else. (Sorry, mum. Not that she approves of computers or anything). | |

| As LL has indicated that this is just a pilot program, it would seem there's a window in which we can express our disappointment and possibly get them to abandon the idea. You can do so at [#VWR-14438] Stop putting ads in the MOTD - Second Life Issues. Besides the issue of LL playing favorites, I'm very bothered by the decreased signal to noise ratio this promises for the MOTD. I read the MOTD to see if there are urgent SL announcements. Putting ads there means that I and lots of other users will run a 3rd party viewer to remove the MOTD. Then LL loses one of their best channels to get urgent messages out to people, and everyone loses. |

| archived ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yeah i was wondering about the sexual favours that had obviously been exchanged for this to have happened. I wonder if anyone took it up the dumper.
