But that was one extreme profile. My own profile is pretty 'open' on consent, but I'm very clear about not being under anyone else's control - a lot of people seem to get sexuality way to wrapped up in power politics.

Actually, this profile cheered me up immensely.

On my pile of work at the moment is a text to edit and check whose author has a few issues with punctuation and run-on sentences. I've been wishing he had enough of a sense of humour for one of my oh-so-witty mails about 'here is a line of free commas, full stops (periods) plus a couple of semi-colons for those adventurous moments'.

If anyone's read the Chanur Saga, by C J Cherryh, that profile reminds me of trying to make sense of a k'n'n'n translation. They, at least, have the excuse of having multiple brains, so the translations come out as word matrices - it's up to you to work out the intended order(s).

Just have to remember the difference in Object placement and your gold most of the time with Japanese. English is "Subject Verb Object" for the most part, while Japanese is "Subject Object Verb"

Japanese also uses less sounds than english and none of the sounds used are foreign to english.... so your never twisting your mouth in a strange way tryng to "pronounce" a sound your not familiar with.

This is also why native Japanese speakers have difficulty with speaking English as they are trying to make sounds that they normaly dont make while speaking Japanese.

Its much more difficult to learn written Japanese because of the Kanji symbols used (some 2600+, but you can get away with just memorizing 1900 or so for the most part)

You could just write in Hiragana and Katakana which are the Phonetic "letters" used in Japanese but your writting would look childish.

Another nice thing about Japanese is its a very phonetic language, words are written as they sound... and you never see things like "There, Thier and They're" in Japanese.

Just finished reading someone profile that was a bit rough.

All her Picks were 'boycott picks' - for good reasons, namely Sims that were racist... but it made her come across as rather hostile.

And the general was this "Profiles are a lie. There's no point in making one because everyone on here is hiding from who they are and lying to everyone else about it."

With one pick like this:

Well in this case I only had words, no actions per se. She may have been very nice, and I suspect I would want to back her on the specific racism calls she was complaining about...
