Look of the Day, 2009-09-23 on Flickr - Photo Sharing!

Look of the Day, 2009-09-23.jpg

Today's outfit is a confluence of several things I've wanted to use lately.

It's no secret I like purple. I haven't worn this corset from SF Design in quite a while (pic NSFW!), and I've been itching to use it as outerwear. On top of that, I got the opportunity to dig out my Natasha heels from Tesla Miles. They're an old favorite of mine, and I'd never worn the purple ones -- ack!

I've wanted new jewelry for a long time now. I always have trouble finding jewelry I like, so I jumped at the chance to check out the Jewelry Fair. I think it's official: Mouse Mimistrobell is my new crack dealer. Her Abalone Dreams necklace is simple, goes with just about anything, and nicely draws attention to my cleavage.

Then there's the backdrop. I received this prefab hallway as a gift through the Distributors' Showcase Network. The walls, doors and floor are customizable via a menu and include several different textures. A visit to Voshie Paine's shop, La Petite Morte, is definitely in my future!

Corset: SF Design - Petite Coquine Corset
Eyes: Chai - Allure - Purple 1
Glasses: Crie Style - GC-Scherzoso HF(L)
Hair: Truth - Gabby - Espresso
Hose: Battered Boudoir - Delicate - Black
Lashes: Celestial Studios - Classic 3
Nails: PXL - Manicure - Pink #1 WhiteFrench
Necklace: Dark Mouse - Abalone Dreams Necklace - Silver
Pants: LF Fashions - Isabeaux Leather Pants - Black
Pose: Alexx Markova - *BR*model against wall (no longer available)
Shape: custom (not available)
Shoes: Tesla - Natasha Heels - Blooming Purple
Skin: Chai - Sable - Tone 07, Nightlife B, with Pushup Cleavage
Top: Ayumi Clothing - Button Top - Black

There are several different types of licenses that can be used on DeviantArt. Not everyone allows their stuff to be used, even if credited.

That jacket was really gorgeous. Is it all prims? I hope it is, because it's nice to have something that don't use a clothing layer.

That's one of my fav corsets too. Was made in late 2007, wasn't it? I remember my early purchases so well, since I was careful with how I spent my money on SL. Well that was then.... I remember going back once during 2008 and see if they made some new stuff, but couldn't find anything that tempted me to buy. It's really a good texture on it.

Yes, but it should stand under the image then? That they don't allow it to be used/altered? I used mostly misc backgrounds, and frames. It was rather ugly to download a complicated picture, and just paste an avatar face over it.

It depends on the license used, there are a bunch of options.

I generally use the following which is under the umbrella of Creative Commons
Quote:
Creative Commons is a non-profit organization with a mission to expand private rights to create public goods, creative works set free for certain uses. Offering your work under a Creative Commons license does not mean giving up your copyright. It means offering some of your rights to any member of the public but only on certain conditions.
All of Creative Commons licenses require that you give attribution in the manner specified by the author or licensor.
This is what I allow on my works:

Quote:

Noncommercial. You let others copy, distribute, display, and perform your work — and derivative works based upon it — but for noncommercial purposes only
No Derivative Works. You let others copy, distribute, display, and perform only verbatim copies of your work, not derivative works based upon it.
Share Alike. You allow others to distribute derivative works only under a license identical to the license that governs your work.
I don't allow derivative works, so if you were to take my images and use them as backgrounds, I don't allow it since you don't have a reciprocal license for your works.

It has literally taken me MONTHS to find a new skin. And I found it at long last!

All thanks to PixelDolls! And I learned my lesson after Symphony Skins. I made sure to get everything in my skin of choice cause I JUST KNOW it will go away the next time I want a new make up choice.

Neph: Please to be making more makeup for this skintone! I love you long time! Thanking you!

it's mixture of prims and jacket layer. the prims are on the cuff for each hand and also the flowy part. Yup it's gorgeous and it comes in 2 colours; black & silver.

I've stumbled across what I think are the most awesome trainers Both by Urban Bomb although they had some other styles as well. Both styles I bought are fully customisable either by choosing presets that come with them or making your own styles.

UBU Drunks

Pornstar Xtra Hi-Tops Multicolour v2

Oh and these ones lace right up or you can have them folded down as I have them in the picture

I have these ones, and thought the actual name of the store was Pornstars people have actually asked me where I got them and I have gone 'Oh! Pornstars!' and off they toddled to, I assume, search for the 'Pornstars' shop

They are cool though, if it was RL I'd have worn them out

This look is pretty far out of my normal comfort zone, but Munch's (Nomine) new Zombie-Stages 1-4 skins pretty much grabbed me by the throat.
Check the link at bottom to see all 4 stages and the details.

The gift skin from Dutch Touch. I love this skin, and it' s really generous to give out a pretty and normal skin without "special" makeup. I've demoed Dutch Touch several times, but the Cleo skins were the first that tempted me to buy them. I am not sure if this skin (and the same skintone with pink lips) is in the subscribo, so go there quick!

The jacket and tattoo is from a new to me shop, Crazy. It's so cheap, so I can turn the blind eye to some things, not all seams blend seamless. And the creator has some parts mod and some not. Here, the cuffs aren't mod. But the chest part was, thank God! And some things are total gems, like the "Road" tattoo!

I was dropping a few L in Luna's Boutique too. She has lowered her prizes a lot. 176 L for compleate outfits, some with skin and shoes included. These boots was from there, but I didn't like that they were knee high, and the leg part only on system layer. I used the system shoes from some flats instead and wore the shoe parts. Again, the low prizes makes me just shrug and work around to find some parts that I can use. If I buy expensive stuff, I am much more picky and get really irritated if I feel I bought something low quality and prized too high.

Skin: Dutch Touch gift skin #1
Hair: Sky Everett Lady Sophia, brown
Eyes: PC Autumn "Tarn"
Lashes: LeLutka Seductress
Cleavage: Ayumi

Skirt and corsage: Rotten Toe "Victorian Decay". I loove this, textures are sharp and rich! Bought on Xstreetsl, I am not sure if they have a shop inworld anymore?
Jacket: Crazy "Sonic" (Part of outfit)
Leg tattoo: Crazy "Road" (Part of outfit)
Stockings: Sheer "Very torn"
Necklace/gloves/bracelets (only hand parts used) LouLou & co, from the "Enigma" set.
Low boots: Luna's boutique, Broken Doll. (Part of set with skin included)

Background is the "Decay" photobooth with different wall/floor textures and some furniture. I took out all except the lamp. From La Petite Morte. Poses from Diesel Works.

Oooh!!!! Look what I found, a Flickr group over places in SL where we can.... *drumroll*.... REZ objects!!! Fantastic. It's so easy to rez a poseball and move it around, instead of trying to move my avatar around when I just play poses. You have no idea how many minutes (no HOURS!) I spent, trying to get just the right angle for a picture.

Did something a little different today, so I thought I'd share.

I found this hat and hair through the Vintage Chat group. There are 3 different sizes of hair, 4 colors each - and 3 different hats, adjustable for size, and color changing. And it was free!

Skin - Male Latte (Beard) - Nomine - as always
Eyes - Fusion Honey - Unique (MHOH prize)

Hair and hat - Hat hair & Performance hat - sf design

Outfit - Hunter - Indi Designs (MHOH prize) I wore the shirt and vest on separate layers so I could tuck it in. There are several different combos available

Socks - Gray socks Jeepers Creepers - came with Carl Perkins Shoes
Shoes - Spencers - black - Shiny Things

Taken in our not very fancy skybox.
