Second Tea Party is organizing a resident created real-life get together in Las Vegas August 6th - 9th with several exciting events planned. We're looking for an amazing logo for our site, t-shirts and other fun products. For more details about the event see SecondTeaParty.com. Everyone is welcome to join us in Vegas!

This contest will run for 2 weeks. Final submissions must be posted by midnight, Wednesday, March 28th, SLT*.

4 logos will be chosen, and these will be voted on by your fellow residents in-world. (The finalists' logos must be in one of the following formats: .eps, .tiff, or .psd, preferably .psd, and submissions need to be created in high resolution for full consideration.) The winning logo will be announced, and that person will win $10,000L! The lucky winner will see the winning logo on our website and be part of Second Life's history.

By joining this Flickr group, you agree that all submissions will be licensed Creative Commons Attribution Only. We don't expect to commercially exploit your work in any major way, but we will need commercial use rights to be able to potentially use your logo on print-on-demand nametags that people could order, etc. For more information about the details and terms of this license, please read the license itself located at:Atrribution-Share Alike 3.0 (link to Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Unported)

Please remember these guidelines:

1. Unique (to STP Vegas)
2. Recognizable at a moderate social distance (5-7 feet)
3. Wearable in public without too much embarrassment
4. Moderate/high resolution, lets say 1200x1200 px minimum, 3600x3600 recommended
5. Degradable to grayscale or monochrome, while still being recognizable
6. Free from copyright claims. If you base it off any work that isn't your own, make sure it is public domain, CC:By, GFDL or a similar open license. For source material, try wikimedia commons, or use Compfight and click Creative Commons to "Commercial".

I think we can wait a few more weeks Isa. The "official" logo will be available beginning of April, which is still 4 months before the event ! Seems long enough to promote Vegas ;-)

Which does bring up the question of promotion ! I think we should all place the logo in a billboard or similar on our property in SL.

Oh, in case anyone was wondering, the famous Vegas sign itself is apparently *not* copyrighted or trademarked. So feel free to use it in your designs.
