Thanks everyone for the entries so far. We've discussed how we might use this logo, and we see a primary use of it as something wearable so that partygoers can recognize each other in vegas. This will be in lieu of nametags in general, unless you'd like to wear a nametag in addition.

With this in mind, we've come up with some guidelines:

1. Unique (to STP Vegas)
2. Recognizable at a moderate social distance (5-7 feet)
3. Wearable in public without too much embarrassment
4. Moderate/high resolution, lets say 1200x1200 px minimum, 3600x3600 recommended
5. Degradable to grayscale or monochrome, while still being recognizable
6. Free from copyright claims. If you base it off any work that isn't your own, make sure it is public domain, CC:By, GFDL or a similar open license. For source material, try wikimedia commons, or use Compfight and click Creative Commons to "Commercial".

I'd recommend making those black letters a very light blue to match the blue background but almost white...but still blue enough to tell it's blue.

Sure. But they won't be free, since there's no registration fee. Most likely we'll put them up on a print on demand site.

Since the logo will be freely licensed, you'll be free to make your own items with the logo on it as well. So if you don't like the T-shirts we make, just make your own T-shirts or buttons or whatever you want at any print on demand site you like.

Just so I can announce it on the Twitter feed, etc. I am considering rustling up some more prize money to add to the kitty to keep sweetening the deal. I'm inspired!
