That picture is NOT what my avatar looks like. It was a tongue in cheek picture I made after I spotted the glowy hair at the Hair fair and thought it was amusing. And yes, it was meant to be a mock of Dragon Ball Z. This also happened before people really wore glowy hair around the grid, if I had known glowy haired people would be visiting regular clubs some months later on, I wouldn't have encouraged the creator by buying that hair. The pics on my Flickr are never how my avatar looks regularly. I just upload a pic when I do something special. Rosie might have some pics on her Flickr of what I look like on normal days.

And yes, they're prim pants. The pants, the t shirt and the shoes are pretty much the only thing of that avatar that I DO wear. I'd prefer to do it without prims to get rid of the seams, but there's no way to make real baggy pants without sculpted prims, the sliders don't go far enough.

Also, I guess I was a bit too harsh regarding my language towards Slipons. But for me the oldest memory I have of slipons is a disgusting smelling, poorly ventilated catholic school gym hall full of sweaty 6 year olds in white slipons, too tight black shorts that barely cover anything at all, and ugly pale yellow t shirts - while bending over and stretching with some pedophile in the background smoking a cigarette and giving them report scores while mentally fapping off. So I'll never understand anyone who thinks they look cool, but I guess people's experiences differ and I shouldn't have used the words I used.

Thanks Eata for that mention. Akeyo is another store I've been to a long time ago, but definitely have to revisit.

FYI, surfers wore the slip-ons and still do because untying your shoes constantly is a bitch.

I had an awesome pair of slip-on vans in 1984.

They were the classic checkerboard a la Jeff Spicoli, only by then they had been done up in pink & purple for us young ladies. Back then the slip-ons were the only kind there were, or at least the only kind we had in my town.

One of my friends gave them to me, because she had shoplifted them from the mall and didn't want her mom to find them.
