Really? What part about them is difficult? Admittedly I'm not a star in maya yet but I haven't had a very hard time making boots and dress shoes.

I started trying to make women's shoes though and the heel was only the start of my frustrations.

I definitely feel like if you feel you need to photoshop your pictures... you're doing something wrong. How about fixing what you fixed in ps in world, hmm?
Oh yes i do have a few pairs from Storm. Before i purchased them I asked storm if the shot was rendered in maya and he/she was honest about it.

I think PS is ok when you are doing ads that go on a wall, for the visual effect, but not on your vendor.

I'm OCD about them fitting correctly and they do that really well, but it seems like not being heels is a detraction. Yet at the same rate I am really against adding invisiprims to them because it makes them look bad AND WE NEED TO STOP CAVING TO THIS STUPID HACK UNTIL LL FINALLY GIVES US CORRECT TRANSPARENCIES.
I hate invisiprims myself. Rather prefer to wear flats if I had the choice.

Stupid bloody invisiprims.

Stupid bloody size zero feet being the "mandatory" shoe size offered for women in SL.

Yeah, that's why I still do shop there

And I don't really consider those ads, I feel they're more like art or decorations. I shop my own art as much as I know how, and I don't feel that folks should put up with wibbly avatar glitches and unfortunate hair prim stickies when they're trying to make a piece of art. Vendor pictures should be no muss no fuss though. I'm even reluctant to play with light, in case I misrepresent the colors.

There's something about getting the heft and length and width all proportional that's tricky with a man's shoe. I think it's because I of course am less familiar with them, but also because my man has seriously weird feet that are atypical, so I can't observe his. It's hard to make a shoe long enough for a man's foot that doesn't look like a flipper, and a shoe wide enough that doesn't look like a club. Let alone a boot that's high enough without looking like some new form of male foot binding.

I may be a crazy SL shopper and have a love of fashion..
but when it comes to shoes...
I go for the cheap, sometimes even system shoes.
Shoes are like the most expensive fashion part in SL. I don't make THAT kind of money. :c

Kira, there are some kickass work boots at J's underneath the tree at his store right now. All you need to do is be a member of the group and you get them for free. Don't miss that, his work is beautiful.

Some of my very favoritest shoes in all of SL are by elka Lehane - and they're flat sandals.

I looked on Renderosity, seems you can get a pair of shoes for about 5 USD, then I looked on Turbosquid, and shoes are around 20-60USD-OMG.

How come shoes in SL are so much cheaper than the other places?

Renderosity is supposed to only be used in Poser, and for models made in Poser. Anything bought there is supposed to be one part of another, original work. So the artist retains all copyrights and resale rights for what's sold on Renderosity, unless it's a merchant's pack in which case it's much pricier.

Meanwhile, Turbosquid is aimed more at people who are looking for merchant resources, and so the EULA is far more permissible of resale and derivative works. So you're not only buying the object itself, but the rights to make money from it.

With SL, you're buying the object to wear, not any rights to it (most of the time), and like Cindy said, sale volume makes up for the costs of making it as well.

With all our fashion mavens I bet we could get some great suggestions for the best Stiletto or place to get shoes. We'll need pictures of course.

Who makes a better Stiletto than Stiletto Moody? Seems that person is made to create the perfect Stiletto , even naming themselves after the shoe style.

This link to images of the shoes didn't show up, there don't seem to be a lot of these shoes images on a google search. The shoes look nice.

Who here owns a pair of the 8 dollar shoes? We'll need testimony.
I think the above shoes were auctioned for the RFL Cancer Society with all profits donated to RFL.

Never, ever going to happen.

LL will eliminate the need for invisiprims right around the same time they update the avatar mesh, increase the number of attachment points, add extra clothing texture layers, and get rid of bling.

OK.. shoes.. I thread I can revel in.. I make shoes.. cheap shoes.. yeah.. I don't have the super quality of the other guys.. girls.. whatever.. I choose to do something.. a little different.. and I'm cheap.. I mean.. yeah.. you worked a long time on getting those feet JUST right.. but damn.. $1400L! you can have as many copies as you want.. you don't have to pay some little sweatshop worker to make EACH pair!
Oh well. I don't know what to charge for my shoes anyways.. $95L is like my favorite price.

Yes, Rowan makes wonderfully creative shoes! I personally care little for generic heels and boots you see everywhere else, but then again, I don't wear shoes in SL.

I will have to add to this. I can't say every woman is far better looking if you consider Imelda when she was a Miss Manila candidate. I got to see a photo of her as the beauty queen and for that time she was gorgeous.

Question... does anyone here actually beat Imelda's 3000+ shoes? I wanna hear the Imeldific numbers if you have them.
