Just in case anyone named up there is nervous: someone calling him or herself a lawyer contacting you to ask what you know or what you believe is not a "deposition." They can use that word to make them sound/feel more important, but it shouldn't intimidate anyone into getting involved in drama that's got nothing to do with them. You don't have to talk to this clown if you don't feel like it.

Just for perspective: even in cases in federal court, the rules only allow you to take depositions of ten witnesses; the parties have to agree to more, or get an order from the court.

the average deposition costs the attorney taking the deposition about $400 dollars, in addition to whatever fee he or she charges. In most states the deposing attorney has to pay a witness fee [in CA its $35] plus mileage for the witness.

It ain't gonna happen guys.
