Where to begin.

I was up until this morning selling my textures at Textures R Us, I have done so for months and have never had a problem, This morning I wake up to an offline email saying you have been removed from TRU's texture artist group, I was like WTF? I logged into secondlife to find a notecard, Quite a friggin rude one might I add, When I finally manage to figure it all out I realise its because I allow 3 other people to sell textures on a commission basis in my store.

She (Lillybeth) flat out accuses me of being a theif for stealing her idea? Excuse me your idea? since when did you own the copyright to a combined texture store? You don't.

I sent her a message back and very politely explained that I thought it was highly unfair, She had not made any contact prior to this (even tho the other artists have been their for a couple of weeks now) and that no where in her TOS does it mention that one cannot use their own store for such purposes.

I went out of my way to make sure I did the right thing, I even went so far as to stating that TRU artists need not apply so I didn't cause conflict. ( I also told her that)

Then I recieve a second notecard, Which was flat out rude, I tried to IM her but she has muted me. Yet my texture packs are still sitting at TRU and she has been earning commission from them all day.

This goes out to Lillybeth personally (because I know you read these forums), This could have been dealt with in a civil manner, You wanted to be a bitch about it. So heres a new flash for you, YOU DO NOT OWN SECONDLIFE, even though you like to think you do, You go on and on and on about how your the biggest texture store and blah blah blah but you want to know what your biggest problem is? You know that one of these days someone is going to come along and offer something that is way better then that which you do and they are going to completely kick your ass. I work bloody hard on my textures, some of them take me weeks so you can get your greedy little hands of them and return them to me and stop stealing (yes stealing) my lindens.

You also say that another artist does exactly the samething in their store but that its ok, yet you remove me and then be a complete bitch to me. You need help if you can't see how messed up that is...actually you need help full stop.

You terminated our contract therefore you have no right to be earning a single linden from my creations.

Well you should get your textures back if she canceled the agreement you had. Bad form on the part of TRU. This is not the first time I have read about people having problems with TRU and I wish u the best of luck!

I am also confused because I have seen groups of TRU artist selling their textures elsewhere also. What I mean is I saw a group of people who all go under the same business name. Each individual makes graphics and the end result is labeled under their own brand name. Seems to me there is not much difference between the business model I just described and having other artists sell some textures in your store. But I am the first to admit I am just a consumer here and really don't know what I am talking about!

I bought an ice texture pack about a yr ago from this TRU store that were supposed to be seamless/tileable. However when I went to use the textures, they were most certainly NOT seamless/tileable and looked ridiculous. I left the creator an IM and a notecard asking about the textures and why they had been advertised and named as being something they weren't. I never did get a response from this person and from what I have heard over time about TRU, I will never shop there again.

My only suggestion for you at this point is to put together a detailed DMCA claim, include the UUIDs of your textures, and request that they be taken down from TRU. Then either get a friend or an alt to make sure that it's taken down after the DMCA team reports it's done its job.

I'm sorry you have to put up with this BS.

Yes so why don't you make an alt, and give that character permissions to your objects... take your alt to TRU and take your stuff down?

I can't speak saying I know TRU makes their textures, but I do highly doubt they make them all (if any) because I have bought the SAME textures they sell BEFORE they were even a store. Most of their textures are freebies off the web. Don't waste your money there.

If memory serves TRU has that covered by making you give your stuff to her so she can box and display them. So, they are transferred (I THINK).

That sort of behaviour really stinks. Is there really no way you can disable these vendors?

I guess what this teaches us (And hell no, I'm not blaming you for anything Natalie, nor am I going the 'you should have known better' route), that unless a store owner is a good friend, do not give them ownership of anything that remotely resembles a vendor unless you can shut it off. And don't let them put your things into -their- vendor, either.

Oh, I guess the other thing would be: Don't shop at TRU.

its funny you should mention aussie tree's, because I've been working on a set for the last couples of weeks, they will be awhile longer tho, I having trouble getting them to look real instead of painted lol

I recieved a message today from a staff member saying she had deleted all my sets, although nothing was returned to me. I will have to wait and see if they really have been removed

You are absolutely correct, I was thinking I should have done more research before I started selling at TRU. Least I know better now for future decisions thats a positive I guess
