I'm checking the thread just to make sure we hadn't made a terrible mistake. I wanted to make sure he wasn't looking for "Sponsons".....nope. We're good.

A little advice. When you came into the other forum unknown with what was essentially a begging strategy, you weren't setting yourself up for success. You were asking for what could amount to a lot of money without saying what that money was going toward. SL is full of scammers and con artists, QED, and the forum crowd are the most attuned to that. So yeah you got a little doo doo thrown back at you. But, you also got some advice, which you chose to ignore. You could have just smiled and said, "OK, my bad", and worked with people, described what you were looking for in better terms, and the outcome might have been different.


I will backtrack myself and say maybe you aren't a douche, but you acted like one in this scenario.It's not a good business model.

LOL - you didn't seriously just say that, did you? This forum is full of some serious heavy hitters in SL. The stuff they build makes your stupid Disneyland rip-off look like something a 4-year old drew on a placemat at the Denny's with a crayon. And they do it on their own, with their own imaginations, not by stealing ideas from Disney and just plastering a bunch of crap on prims that you didn't even come up with.

Anyone can steal ideas and pirate art. It takes talent to come up with your own. You challenging the talent of people in these forums is laughable. I pity you.

Meet Lordfly. He has been builing in SL since you were playing tetris. He gets paid real life money by real life corporations to build full sims pretty regularly. Also, his builds can be found in places all around the grid.

Your mickey mouse project is not as big as you imagine, that is not said to make fun of it.. you just seem to hold it up as much more important in the SL world then it is.

Oh.. friendly word of advice. You mentioned that Lindens have come and love your project or whatever. Research what just happened with the recent gambling situation. Some guy created a "work around" to the current TOS rules on gambling. He had Lindens tell him that it was OK to use and that things were legal. This lasted all of a month or so as SL members reported and put pressure on the Lindens. In true Linden Lab fashion at the first hint that they may be held responsible somehow they folded like a house of cards and removed the content.

Lindens do not make copyright law decisions and they are not going to unless pushed. Rest assured though, somebody reading your words has already gotten it into their heads to make it a personal mission to show Disney lawyers what you are doing. One email will have LL delete your sim of all but terraforming in one flip of the switch. Beware of spending money on this project.

And FYI ALL the textures, and images we use are self created thank you very much. and ALL the scripts in our sim have been written from scratch (since no one in SL had the brains to come up with what we needed) so again, step up or shut up.

And this is true. But, this would require griefing or something else for them to do it. Otherwise Ayesha or Jellin or anyone can wander the sims or land they are banned from freely and confidently.

Honestly they more often do not track these things down. It is a false sense of security to believe otherwise.
