I hate bullies too and people who lie and use the forums as a means to extort. She did not even contact me in the first place. She came straight here. Seven months ago, I publicly announced that I would gladly give anyone a license who contacted me about buying illegal textures from TRU and replace them with legal versions.

If you want to blaime anyone here, please do blaime TRU... do not blaime us for trying to defend and protect our copyright. I resent that.

i am going to go out on a limb here. if you are who you say you are, what would be the right thing to do. Give the textures to the residents and say here is the original sorry you were duped. If you need extras or customizations, contact me .. blah blah. nice entrance into the world of SL Business. Instead, you are telling people to buy the CDs and talking about legal issues.

If you ever open a store, i will NOT buy from you. You have left a bad taste in my mouth.

Whoever said anything about a lawsuit? I know I did not. You do not have to file a lawsuit to issue UUID take down orders.

Maybe if she had done the right thing to contact me in the first place, I would have just give her a free set as I have so many other merchants. But she did not. She came here and started drama and even lied. So.. no I don't think so.

She is not a regular resident. She is a merchant and is and has made allot of money from using our textures illegally. I merely suggested to her WHEN she has time to come buy the legal set. That is not wrong. I will not be bullied or extorted by public shame into thinking that it is wrong.

I find it inexcusible to defend the right to use what is not rightfully yours in the first place and to make money from it.

A price she probably never would have paid for the textures in the first place since its massively over the going rates...

Heck everyone knows TRU was on the pricey end of SL textures. So even the 1000L was probably steep.

LESS THE 5% of the residents read the forums. You think everyone in sl knows who you are and the mission you are on?

if you are really serious, then nothing would have been said and one day all the textures would have gone from the database. please.

SL's ToS only covers Linden Lab assets...if she posted logs on the official forums, that would be a problem. Posting it here, on a blog, skywriting it over San Francisco, all fine.

I'm sure she made well over the cost of the textures. I have no doubt. That is not the point here. I resent how she has approached this issue in the first place. I was very nice to her. She posted what I said without my permission out of context, a violation of the ToS. Furthermore, she was dishonest, saying I threatened her with the DMCA which is a blatant lie.

Had she just contacted me privately as I did her, we could have resolved this differently. But no, she wanted to try to make me look like the bad guy that I am not. To use the forums as a means of public shame and humiliation extortion... something I did not do to her.

SLU is a group of friends and many people come here to post their problems rl/sl, ask for advice. This is what she did. You fail to see it. No one for one moment thought you were being shamed. Everyone saw it as she needed some advice.

Actually that's in the ballpark for some sets of TRU texture sets, they are just 20 or 25 for 1000 $L
