Can I play with your land?
| Ever get an SL rut? Usually I check in sl every few hours at least. Last few days not so much. My sister had her baby and I had a few other rl obligations. Normally I check in first thing when I wake up. Today I didn't get on until I had to because I needed to meet a client. After that I logged my ass back off. I had a few things I needed to work on in sl today but blew it off took my kids to a craft store and bought supply's to make a few wood box purses I've been thinking about making for awhile. I logged in tonight although I really didn't want to and ended up booting someone and returning all of there items after a few unanswered im's because the entire rest of the sim was upset with them. They wouldn't turn off banlines, the put up a megaprim wall to block the people next door, disco floors, ect ect. I'm just kinda in a SL rut. You oldbies ever get like that? How do you handle it? Especially when taking more than a day or two break isn't really an option. |

My Mood: | I go through phases, going through one right now in fact. Only reason I logged in was to attend scrim's show. The way I usually handle it, log in when you have to. Don't force yourself to log in just because. I found that only increased my frustration levels. Then after awhile, I found myself logging in more and more. Hope that at least helps a bit. ![]()

My Mood: | Remembering the horror of having to log in daily to meet the whims and fancies of anonymous patrons for pennies an hour makes me shudder like a polar bear is dancing on my grave. It also reminds me to just say no when the temptation to jump off that cliff manifests itself inworld. |

My Mood: | I sort of hit a spot where I ran out of inspiration and motivation to work on things, so I've been slacking off -- just dancing and socializing.

My Mood: | Do you have to be an oldbie to answer? I'm in a SL rut right now too. Tons of stuff going on RL. I've taken most of this week off from my show even because things are just hectic right now. I'm probably going to take tomorrow and all of next week off as well considering I have to fly to Toronto late next week for an overnighter and I just need to focus on things right now like, oh, say real work and making money and getting a bit ahead so the trip doesn't set me back too far. SL is way at the bottom of my priorities list. I logged in twice today for a grand total of about a half hour to check on a couple of things and that's about it. When I did log in today after I did my checking I litterally looked around where I was standing and had a "meh" moment and clicked the red X. That's unusual because any other time I can think of something interesting to do and end up staying on for at least a couple of hours. |

SL Join Date: '04 '06. | I'm in kind of an emo rut right now, in that I only log in to hang out with you guys but find myself either not talking much or just talking randomly every 15 minutes or so .. so I get self-conscious and either log out or go watch TV with Quimby. I just feel awkward lately.

| Yes. Right now. Part of it was the months long task of repackaging all my houses. But, I have a new house that has me very involved and happy and excited. But - the bug man was coming, and wanted inside the house. Now, my husband has been bringing home my mother's furniture and boxes, bit by bit, from the storage unit we had, to our garage, and that has been a total mess. He finally got all that organized by last weekend. But meanwhile, I was still cleaning out from our younger daughter leaving home. First, there was her friend here for the summer, which meant everything that had been in the guest (sewing) room was moved to the living room so she could move in. All that had to be moved back. Then my daughter moved out, leaving me to shovel out her room, my reward for which was repossession of her closets. But that entailed just a HUGE amount of work, because she left basically saying, "I don't care that much about all this stuff, do what you think is best." And she hadn't dusted in what looked like three or four years. (As it was, I ended up donating some of her clothes to charity she'd left on a laundry rod and "hadn't really quite decided about," which I had misunderstood, and was an unfortunate mistake, but she assured me it didn't matter that much, "because if I'd really liked them that much, I would have taken them with me, wouldn't I?") Meanwhile, as my mother's stuff was coming into the garage, I was going through everything already IN the garage, to get rid of stuff to make room for it (you accumulate a lot of stuff through two kids and thirteen years in the same house), plus going through all my mothers' stuff and comparing it with mine (linens, dishes, you name it) that I hadn't already given to the girls, and then replacing mine with it, etc. So ANYWAY - once the garage was done, it was time to let the bug man in, but the rest of the house was still a wreck! So I spent three days in intense housecleaning and organizing till nearly every spot was get-to-able by whatever the bug man wanted to do (he comes inside every year or so), with the exception of the office closet and one pile of stuff in boxes on a bed. So yesterday morning he comes in and announces he needs to see - only the garage! Oh well, we got a really clean house out of it, and a lot of long-put-off organizing done. So anyway, that put me off the game. And then - for a reward - today I felt like playing scrapbooking. NOT sitting there trying to line up little recalcitrant prims and making a roof without a saw, which is always a challenge. I imagine I will get back to it soon enough, but . . . I can almost just as easily see myself cleaning out closets and scrapbooking and other forgotten hobbies for the rest of my life, too. Maybe that's not the same as a rut, though. Maybe that is getting OUT of a rut, I don't know. cocotalkstoomuch

| OK, this is difficult. It is already 32 pages! I'm working my way backwards from the end, which has nothing to do with the beginning, trying to determine what happened and where. coco |
