I think it's interesting that you use the words "hatred" and other tasty hot and bubbly verbs to describe what can go on around here. I've been in the middle of the shitstorm, as has my partner, but I don't think I've ever felt hatred for anyone here, really. Can't speak for anybody but myself.

What I do find, honestly, is that there's a small group of people who tend to err on the side of being antagonistic and negative, harshly blunt, and antisocial in the name of being honest or true to themselves, and they seem to be the ones who end up in the midst of conflict a lot.

I guess I figure if you're going to be all "I don't really give a flying fuck what you think about me anyway," then you really don't have any excuse for carrying around a lot of bubbling, seething hatred if someone disagrees with you or gets into some kind of brawl with you on the forum. Folks can't really have it both ways -- either you honestly don't give a fuck what anyone thinks and you're going to stand by your guns because that's what's important to you, in which case other people antagonizing you (or antagonizing you BACK) will just sort of roll off your back and you won't rightly care -- or, you DO give a fuck what other people think of you and you hold on to seething hatred and bubbling rage because you're secretly or not-so-secretly butthurt and you wish people either liked you more or gave more credence to what you have to say.

I saw someone once here on SLU describe our dynamic as akin to a neighborhood bar. You may not be best buddies with everyone in the bar, and you might even get in fights with 'em from time to time, but when someone's battery dies in the parking lot you'd give them a lift home.

That analogy always worked for me.

I posted that because I really felt bullied and no one cared. I never did what Vertigo accused me of, but I'm never allowed to defend myself. I didn't accuse Cris and I wasn't trying to get anyone to talk about Josh. Instead I said exactly the same thing that Brenda did, but she didn't get attacked. Why is everything I do wrong? And what Vertigo does just right? Maybe someone can explain that to me

Yes, she got heat for shit that had nothing to do with her and mostly to do with ongoing drama behind the scenes after a very nasty public display.

I do also believe it was apologized for.

Lila, you are out because you want to be out. You have stated multiple times now that you don't belong here and that no one likes you despite people being very vocal to the contrary.

You started to push back and I was genuinely surprised and happy to see it, it meant you had taken previous critiques and applied them. Then you started with the emotional manipulation and that just doesn't fly with some people.

Having said that, I was in a sore mood that day and I did fly off the handle, I could have handled that situation completely differently and for that, I apologize.

I, too, started a thread asking where Joshua was. I found out quickly that he had been banned and posted an apology in the thread, PM'd Cris with an apology and, complying with many people's request that it remain private, dropped the subject.

You insinuated that this wasn't a good forum because Cris asked that it remain private. Then when Verti, who never blows up, blew up at Collette, Collette immediately apologized and so did Verti. You, however, decided to press the issue. Then you decided to press the issue again.

This has nothing to do with being a clique. It has to do with the fact that others decided to apologize and drop the issue and you decided to press the issue.
