My alt, who is very obviously my alt sits in the center of freebie paradise 24/7 and she is set up as a group invite alt. People click a sign to join, and she sends invites. Randomly she gets im's usually from newbs who don't understand she's a bot. Lately I've been noticing she gets a lot of requests for blood. The first few times I figured it was a coincidence. Now it's become a regular question. Is vampire RP the big new thing in sl?

This Bloodline thing isn't a RP as much as it is a pyramid scheme, where everyone is trying to race to the top. I suspect it isn't that they are looking for blood as much as they are looking for "souls" also -- the way I understand it once someone bites you, if you ever wanted to join up on Bloodlines later down the road that person will always be your ...sire? So they get credit for "turning people."

I don't have any experience in the game but know a couple of people who tried to play it legitimately and it seems to be just a clusterfuck of people trying to get their names on a list for having "turned" more people than anyone else.

We've banned Bloodlines scripting from LoD for exactly that reason. The vampires are welcome to be in the room, they just aren't welcome to wear their Bloodlines huds.

I had a guy ask to bite me last night. I was shopping, at Nyte and Day ironically and he asked. I declined and he politely went on his way. Across the street there have been several threads discussing it, it can be a nuisance.

I'm going to have to spend some time with my anti-Bloodlines alt "Spampire Twine" again. I've been looking for a 'stake through the heart' animation for her, to send a special response to Bloodlines spammers.

Her profile reads "Bloodlines, the herpes of SL". Once I find the animation, I'm going to add. If you try to bite, you will be staked.

Anyways, yeah, the horrible 'can I bite you?' questions suck. They also make me laugh imagining some vamp walking through the streets and asking that. Makes me almost ashamed for having fangs.

An easy solution would be to make them pay money for the bite. Seriously, if you're going to take the effort to message back a denial, you may as well try. Who knows, if these people willingly bought into this tripe, maybe they're stupid enough to accept.

I would direct these people to buy a copy of Morrowind and install one of the awesome vampire mods so they can enjoy actual vampire gameplay, but I have a feeling the primary interest for Bloodlines is a gridwide e-peen war and not so much roleplay or interest in vampires as actual character acting.

Real vampires don't grind llsettext numbers in a vain attempt to impress people to compensate for the lack of self-confidence one needs to attain respect legitimately.

That's just my opinion though, I have a borderline irrational distaste for people who wear meaningless stats on their sleeve.
