Did SL get a lot of new people in May?

I'm asking, because I was sitting on the pot today looking at the May issue of Reader's Digest, which featured "America's 100 Best New Discoveries" on the cover.

And on page 161, was #61, given the title "best alternate reality".

Here's what it said:

"If you're looking for a way to step outside your everyday world a bit and meet new friends, consider Second Life. At this virtual reality website, you create an avatar - a digital representation - of yourself, then interact with others who've done the same. (secondlife.com has four million registered users). Spend virtual money, build a virtual house, or drive a virtual car. Consider it an online social club where you can try on a new you without leaving the old behind."

Referring to it as a "website" should drive whoever it was the other day who said that drives him crazy, crazy.

Did anyone post about this back then?

Well, we DON'T.

I was just taking a break while cleaning the bathroom, which my husband, of course, messed up. I simply sat down on the nearest seat, with his Reader's Digest in hand.

Um, didn't EA just shut down Sims Online back then?

If so that's where they are coming from.
