Saliva can "dribble" from our mouths (especially when I see pics of Clive Owen without a shirt).

But she was talking about "mindless drivel", which definitely fits the definition: "childish, silly, or meaningless talk or thinking; nonsense; twaddle".

I know English can be a difficult language even for native English speakers, but this is one of those oft-used malapropisms that drives me batshit. Right up there with "for all intensive purposes" instead of "for all intents and purposes".

My inner English teacher just dragged her French manicure down the blackboard.

Hm, but if there were landing point parcels set up as a penalty boxes, and anyone with attachments got ejected from the main areas, that could work. And it would be sooooo Rezzable to do it like that.

I find it so weird how people are criticizing someone's over the top reaction to a nasty remark in a blog. That's how blogs get hits people! I mean look at us..even we're posting about it. Even Dancian who is usually sooo above all this(/sarcasm) is posting. This is good dramaz and it increases immersion!

Apparently my mocking doesn't translate well in the written word. I'm never above it. I just like making fun of people for it.

Actually I prefer the idea put forth earlier that vendors only set out one vendor containing all their demos in one nifty box, plus a landmark to their store.

No sculpties, no particles, no massive texturing of the booth.

Simple wins, and you can still mark the item in your store for the share pay. It doesn't have to be in the Hair Fair Lagstorm.

Kinda like "bare with me"? or "tow the line"?

Oh and lets not mention that there were far less strongly worded comments I made on SCD that never got posted.

She waited and waited and just let her negativity wear me down until I posted something that would feed her fire. So how about posting my other comments Tenshi?

Yesterday was my birthday and Tenshi fucked that up pretty well for me with yet another of her baseless attacks. Today is my and Sheltereds wedding anniversary and thats not going to be consumed defended ourselves against something which we never should have to defend ourselves against, lies and personal attacks.
Wow, I go to class and look what explodes. Do you have spidey sense, Fall?

Ok,

1.) Personal vendetta? Not so much. I talk to the girl every day and not once has your name or store come up. You'd think, you know, holding a personal vendetta and all, I'd have any idea who you are and if she happens to have strong feelings about you.

2.) You're banned from commenting on SCD. Before you call out injustice, let me say that it's our blawg and we can ban whoever we want for any reason. Commenting is a privilege, not a right. I saw your comment that was posted when I was cleaning out the spam filter and let it through. I thought you came off like an ass. Sue me.

3.) She waited and waited till all your negativity wore you down? You really think someone cares that much about someone they don't know? Seriously? It's not your fault that you wrote that, Tenshi made you?

4.) Tenshi ruined your birthday? Oh come the fuck on. Like the world revolves around you and she somehow knew it was your birthday and just went out of her way to ruin it? Seriously? How can one person be that self-centered.

Talk about a disproportionate response. Sorry, but yeah, it's creepy. She didn't say you ruined the Hair Fair. She said your booth was too primmy and an example of how scripts/people/prim heavy booths are lagging it. How hard would it have been to 'meh, whatever' it and not care? How much time and energy did you devote to this on your birthday when you should have spent time doing stuff with friends and family that makes you happy instead of sitting at a computer and fuming?

It's always been my opinion that it is rather hopeless to get people to dress down their avatars at events like this. Clothing sales, hair sales, and other such events regarding finery will bring out avatars who - guess what! - put a lot of stock in their clothes, hair, etc.

So you're sort of up against the idea similar to asking someone to attend a Neiman-Marcus event with the high society of Houston, and then asking them to come without their hair, bling, AO's (if they had them in real life!), and so on.

I was at an EDT hair sale once, and this one person did shout a suggestion - nicely worded - that people remove things. I took up that clarion call, and believe it or not, a bunch of people DID, and the FPS went up from 2 to 15 for a little while.

Then it went all to hell again, as new people came in, and old people put their stuff back on. But at least people were nice, and they were cooperative about it for a bit!

Request: Someone please come to me in SL and measure my ARC. I'd like to know what it is. I'm usually on at night U.S. time.

coco

Edit: Wait - I seem to have cocoanutted this thread. It appears to be about something else entirely now.

As far as lag contributors. I think the participants, the shoppers, as well as the server limits all contribute to the lag. Honestly I think even if every one came naked the lag would still be very bad.
God, I wish was still as passionate about SL as these guys are.

Hair Fair rants?

Hey, there are men in SL too! If you make guy hair for me (not Fabio hair, not anime hair, guy hair) I will buy it!

If I have to pay for it, it is not a freebie or a gift. Call it a bargain bag or something.

I will not pay for demos. If you charge me for a demo, you could have the best hair in SL, and I'll never know it, because I will not buy hair without demoing it first, and I will not buy a demo. I don't care if it is only $L1, it is the principle of the thing.

These ARC numbers are opening my eyes big time. Some chick at the Magika stall just bitched about nothing rezzing -- with an ARC of nearly 4000.
