Stop faking German-ness! You are ruining it for us real Germans!

Do you know how often I had people asking me to lug around steins full of beer to prove I am from Germany?!

IT JUST GETS OLD, OKAY?!

I had a friend who was male in real life, but whose av was a female escort (well, ex-escort by the time I knew him). He disappeared into the SL night well over a year ago, and I still miss him greatly. Personally, I don't see what the big deal is with escorts being men at the keys anyway, you're paying for the SL experience and the hot av, not the driver, right? If you want to be sure the person you're paying for cyborz is really a female, go hit up a webcam girl, sheesh!

Are you sure that they wanted you to prove you're German? I'd sort of like a stein full of beer right about now, and I'd be perfectly happy if anyone handed it to me, no matter where they were from.

Yes. I think. I don't recall ever having a Thai beer, but I'd give it a shot. I'd like the stein to be full of good beer. I just don't care whether the person bringing it to me is German or not. If I thought I could get a free beer out of it, I might as someone to prove to me that they are German by bringing me a stein of beer...multiple times. That would be a pretty good scam. At the end of the night, I could just concede that they are German, then try to find a way to stick them with the tab.

A friend of mine worked in Bangkok for a year and loved to tell tales about Thai beer, which he called "Tiger piss".

Having second thoughts yet?

Tiger piss make you strong, hard, long, wide, able to chop wood with long hard appendage to be named later.

Interestingly enough, according to wikipedia, Tiger beer's majority shareholder is Heineken (semi-related: Tsingtao was started by Germans in China).

Maybe it is, and maybe it isn't. Only one way to find out, Sugar.

I understand why Colette feels threatened by them, and why so many men are so against gender bending. Once you have been burnt by a heartless cretin it's hard to be understanding.
Unfortunately cretins populate the world, bot RL and SL ... if they weren't gender-bending in SL to be predatory the would be doing it some other way. That's why my rule of thumb is, don't ask, and if asked tell the truth but be wary of the motivation behind the question. color me cynical, but I believe everyone has an agenda and their agenda is not likely to involve good things for me!

I completely agree with this, and it highlights one of the ways in which SL is completely different from an MMO like warcraft. I've played WoW and to be honest I chose my gender in that game based on which one looks best for the particular race. But then, in WoW you're limited to no more than 5 or 6 faces for each race and most of them are ugly anyway (except the Blood Elves, which are FAR too pretty for Azeroth). In SL you have infinite customisation of your avatar, whether male, female or genderless.

But you're right about how people don't really identify with their character (except maybe on the roleplaying realms). The character's really just a set of numbers, armour, damage-per-second ratings, and lists of gear, and the actual appearance of the character is all but totally irrelevent. In SL there's more identification witht he avatar because you can customise it so much to be exactly what you want, instead of just picking from a list of 6 faces and 6 hairstyles.

I think this is probably one of the reasons I got bored with WoW and quit after 6 months.

If Heineken's involved, it's bound to be piss.
