Can anyone tell me what this means in bo-bo terms?
Mono Launch « Official Second Life Blog

I'm concerned mono will screw up some scripts I've used in content I sell.

It means SL has a new, much more efficient scripting engine that will also eventually allow a lot more programming options in scripts. However, it runs along side the current one, it doesn't replace it. Only new items created specifically with Mono scripts in them will use the new engine - existing scripts in items will continue to use the existing one, so you have nothing to worry about. You can take your existing scripts in your objects and recompile them in Mono, but you don't have to. It will mostly provide benefits for complex scripts, not for the simple scripts you probably have in furniture and other items. You will be able to continue to use your old scripts in new items you develop as well. Ideally you should switch them over eventually, which will just mean recompiling the script in the object, not rewriting it.

Mono won't screw up anything; the LSL2 virtual machine is still in place, scripts compiled under LSL2 will still work. You have the option of recompiling scripts in Mono; they will, theoretically, perform faster and conribute less to simulator load if you do so, but you don't *have* to do it. (In terms of overall performance gains it's something I'd recommend though; ever gone to a crowded sim full of people wearing multiple scripted attachments like AOs, scanners/flight assists, and so on, and observed the extreme lag and time dilation approaching zero? That's because of the load from all of the scripts; the LSL2 virtual machine can't process them efficiently enough and requires more processor time devoted to script interpretation).

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Thanks guys! But I am lazy and selfish and I don't care if my sliding door scripts lag the hell out of you so I won't be recompilling them all.

Go me!

Actually I fully expect things to get screwed up for a while because every time they change the damn software for the smallest thing then all hell breaks loose until it has settled in. This has nothing to do with recompiling scripts and everything to do with general update borkiness.

No I guess that's too much to hope for.
