SLU chat is public, so I don't think it's a problem to relate what's going on in the thread.

Tropical Storm Fay has been dumping rain over Brodie's city for three straight days now, and it doesn't look to finish soon.

Brodie's been stuck at work, away from his wife and son, for 38 hours now. He hasn't been able to contact them for about 16 hours. Power has been out at their home for two days now, and their generator is out of gas. So it's a scary time for them.

Brodie and Trix, the two of you and your son are in my thoughts and prayers. Stay safe! And if there's anything I can do please call.

This is the latest from FPL on the power situation:

JUNO BEACH, Fla. – Florida Power & Light Company’s crews worked through the night to continue to restore service disrupted by Fay while preparing resources to respond as the storm moves into new areas.
Outages have been widely scattered, caused by high winds, debris, trees and limbs blowing into lines, and flooding, for example. Here is the status of restoration:

Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties have been essentially restored.
The Treasure Coast and the west coast counties served by FPL will be essentially restored by the end of the day.
The company will continue working to restore power between storm bands in Brevard County and is making significant progress. Completion of restoration is dependent on changing weather conditions which may delay restoring service to all customers in this area today.

With the current forecasted northwesterly path of the storm, the company is prepared, should it become necessary, to augment existing crews with an additional 1,000 restoration personnel into the areas north of Volusia County.

It also is important to report the outage to 1-800-4-OUTAGE - they are encouraging customers to do so.

OMG. its now friday and power and stuff is restored and the water has receided enough to where we are out of harms way. Im at work right now and I made it home finaly after being evacuated at 9AM yesterday. I just wanna say thank you to all of you for your support. Especially I would like to thank you brig, when the phones went down and it had been 6-8 hours since i spoke to my wife i gave brig my number and she continued calling my wife trying to get through, she stayed up with me and kept me company via chatbox until my power finally went off.

My house made it okay and my wife syphoned gas from the car to the generator. My son never even knew anything was wrong. A testement to what a strong woman trix is. FEMA is working on the neighborhood across the street because its underwater still. my home has water damage on the back porch and severe landscaping damage which is nothing in comparison to the catastrophe that is some people's homes. things dont matter, all that matters is my family is safe and I was able to get back to them.
