Im in my house, doing some wheeler dealing TE style with a couple of friends in open chat then the girl next door pipes in with 'who is there'
so i told her 'we are next door'

neighbour: 'im supposed to have privacy, what are you doing here?'
me : no such thing as privacy on sl, we are on the parcel next door to you, chat travels across all the time, i have to put up with the couple pressing their xcite bits constantly from your house
neighbour: ?
neighbour: can you see me?
Vincent : yes, put some knickers on
neighbor : NO!!!!!!!
me : we can see if we pan the camera around, but im not
neighbour : but my sl dad told me that hes put a special texture so people cant look in
me : no such thing (pan around to see her in her room)
neighbour : but you can hear me! thats so rude
me : do you think its rude i can hear the couple from your house having sex?
neighour : thats my sl mum and dad!

Yes, I find this behaviour creepy too ...

I had a friend who decided to have an SL baby with her partner, I paid no attention, since my interaction with her was based soundly in real world values. I struggled when she wanted to TP me to the birth, and upon querying this, she replied ' I can't talk now, I am 7cm dilated ... '

That friendship was terminated instantly, with my honest apologies.

or those annoying pregnancy HUDs which transmit in green text "Crazybitch avatar's baby is hungry and pooed in the amniotic fluid" and other whack statements

I finally found a freebie script that allows me to play text off a notecard so I can make up my responses, also in green text (in the club where I worked - i could approximate it with quotes only )

It will respond in green text with quotes like "Brave Republic's penis feels confined in his pants and is only truly happy when wet" etc etc etc

I can see how the pregnancy thing would be apart of heavy RP communities, so I don't find them creepy in that respect.

But with non-RP'ers its kinda freaky.

I've often thought that if my scripting skills were better, I'd whip up a "Realities of Pregnancy" HUD.

To whit:

"Macha Morigi's fetus says: Mummy has appalling water retention right now folks: just look at her hippo ankles"
"Macha Morigi's fetus says: Mummy's chronic morning sickness causes her to vomit yet again, slowly eroding the enamel on her teeth"
"Macha Morigi's fetus says: Mummy has the most god-awful constipation right now, which may explain why her haemorroids are breeding like rabbits"
"Macha Morigi's 's fetus says: Mummy's having a mood swing again which is why Daddy is currently hiding under the bed"

I mean, come on - let's tell it how it really is...

I can understand feeling so close to someone that they're like the brother or sister you never had. I can understand the concept of "play cousins". But when I see these SL families with grandmas, uncles, stepbrothers, etc.... well, that's a bit much.

And if you're going to roleplay someone's grandma, can you at least look the part? Every SL grandma I've seen looks like a 20 year old Miami club slut.

I had some friends in SL before. Two of the couples decided to have SL babies. I hated the huds and had to mute them several times. The worste part was when I got a ulstrasound picture from one of the couples. With the text "for aunty Lila" typed on it. Yuck. And of course I was invited to the deliveries. I'm not friends with them anymore, for several reasons.

I went to an SL birth once. It was horrifying and hilarious at the same time. I was truly creeped out. Luckily, I was heavily baked at the time They were holding the ugly ass baby upside down, which was half neko....

Unfortunately it is too often the latter.

But SL pregnancy, birth, kids, etc., can all work as part of an RP.

My friend, LaeMi makes a fun weapon called a Baby Boomer. Its a birthing animation but you can shoot the baby out at people, as it sprays pee everywhere. With crying sound effects. Its awesome.

I hate the stupid talking fetus crap. It makes me want to pull a RL thing and scream "Thanks for reminding me of my miscarriage you dumb bitch" burst into SL tears and run away.

I still avoid pregnant people in RL. I don't want to see them and have their stupid virtual baby talking to me in SL to.
