I am trying to shop in ETD and there is this 'family' with this stupid 5 yr old kid avatar who is doing nothing but running around screaming WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE and other stupid gesture spam while her "daddy" says "NO" and her "mommy" laughs while he tries to discipline her.

It's fucking irritating.

Only thing I hate about child avatars is that they don't act like real kids. They act like adults smoking crack and using baby talk.

I have observed most SL "role playing" consists of bad acting.

Kid avatars aren't any better or worse at role-playing than Goreans or Vampires or anything else.

They just have different things to do then bragging to each other how great their imaginary selves are.

That is to say -- yes many are annoying, but theres a waiting list.

Agreed...
i think most "drug dealers" in Second Life don't act like "real drug dealers"..
Most strippers in SL don't act like "real strippers"..
Most Kings and Queens of England don't act like real ... well.. it's like you were saying..

Most RP in SL is .. bad acting.. or.. at least not "real world realistic" acting..

Still... as a child avatar i must defend that some of us aren't so bad.

i hate people using gestures.. in general, child ones, that annoying HOOOO! or Nom-Nom-Nom one.. or a million others, especially in public places.

i've seen "adult" avatars behave just as badly/annoying-ly as the OP described this child...

But! i'm sorry the OP had a bad experience.. and had their shopping time ruined. i love shopping and i know it can suck to have shopping time hindered by jerkfaces.

A lot of people can be annoying, its not a kid av thing - its a people thing.

Its just theres a lot of people who wouldn't know a sort of dramatic rationalism if it safezone clubbed them over the head.

I meant mostly people in RP areas. I don't think most drug dealers/strippers even try to role play.

Oh I absolutely agree that, like in RL, not all child avies are bad.

But like being at the local WalMart, this child needed to be locked in a room with an behavioral coach and muzzled.

I was about to buy the poofiest hair I could find and choke her with it while screaming C IS FOR COOKIE BITCH C IS FOR COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOKIE! WHAT'S YOUR COOKIE NOW!?!?!?!
