Nothing wrong with traditional prims! If nothing else they don't end up with you wearing spheres on your feet until they rez in.

I find pricing a mystery. We provide Demo for all skins, hair, clothes and shoes and try to keep our prices fair and reasonable but often when I look at the finished work I wonder if I undervalue its worth in struggling to keep things affordable for people. It can be very hard to judge your own work objectively from a consumer perspective.

There also seems this sort of strange mentality on the grid that if someone is charging 2000L for a pair of jeans or a top it MUST be good! I don't get that at all. I remember a very snooty girl telling me her skin cost 4000L as if it was coated in gold dust, didn't look it to me. Maybe we all have our own pair of rosy coloured percepterons!

I once met a man with "a 4000L body." He had a triangular torso. O_o

I'm sure that could be done with particles and an invisible prim... Actually, I have a dog by Daniel Luchador that does shits and you have to click them to clean them up. Best SL pet EVER!

I discovered Bare Rose about a month ago and love it. It's an interesting strategy, usually I'd feel uncomfortable about spending more than 1000L in a place for clothes. However due to the high quality/low prices of many of the clothing I pretty much bought half the store.

Literally.

The other thing I love is that you get a lot of the prim attachments in different colours. I've given away bits in colours I don't like to friends so they can make their own outfit and in return they have also ended up going back to Bare Rose to buy other clothes.

It also makes a nice change to the fetish clothes my av is usually dressed in.

Gah... you keep reminding me I need to go to BR and get the Virgo outfit.

But anyway... as a consumer that is ultra picky about anything I buy here is a story. Everyone tht has chated with me about fashion knows i love the stiletto moody gladiator sandals. But never bought them because a) the price was ridiculous b) no demo. Ok sooo they had teh 40% off sale and I finally got them, which was still more then I would normally pay for shoes but hey I like them shoot me.
So anyway while we're in the store JessyAnne is buying up a storm and I just couldn't bring myself to spend another penny in that store 40% off or not. I kept thinking about A&E, J's, Tesla, Shiny Things, Slink, Pixel Mode all of them that have reasonably priced good quality shoes. I could be spending my money with them and getting more for less.

So anyway we eventually ended up at J's where I bought 2 pairs of shoes (real toesies 4TW!!) and a pair of boots which would probably added up to one pair of shoes 40% off at stiletto moody, and I got toesies!!! My gladiator sandals don't have toesies

For jewelry I love Miriel (her eyes are the bestest) and VG for resonable prices.

I paid full price for mine, and I probably won't buy another pair

I thought Bare Rose was great too when I had only 2000 - 3000 Lindens in my account a year ago but her high sales volume means also that everyone and his uncle has the same thing in the inventory. I prefer to get comments like "Where did you get that from???" compared to "I have that also!"

As a customer: when I see clothes / shoes I like under 300 I buy them without blinking an eye. I have clothes I wear just once but bought anyway because of this price. Things under 1000 I'd still buy if I need it at the moment and when I am sure my investment will be returned. The only clothes I have that cost more than 1000 is my wedding gown.

PS Miriel: I love your eyes, especially the luminous series, I wear only them nowadays. The price you ask is also outrageously low, I am sure if they get more exposure (like vendors in club entrance or something) they'll sell even more.

Bare Rose makes me dizzy. If there's ever a place that needs napalming and then reorganising with a nice, clean layout that's one.

Super premium pricing is deceptive. It will be largely unsucessful unless consumers overwhelmingly believe it is worth it. 90% of the time much more money will be made with standard pricing. It takes a lot to pull it off.
