M is a marketer. His livelihood has been based on making people think they need what he is selling. He is a P.R. dream with words.

Right now there are things on the horizon that are taking the thunder that LL used to solely own. He knows that he has to try to stop people from leaving now before they get here.

I am willing to stand by at this point and believe he wants to do these things. BUT I have to wonder with Philip and Mitch and the like still running the board how much they will let him do. Companies like RealXtend are already developing improvements for virtual worlds open sourced that LL are just talking about. They have them done. OpenSim could leave LL in the dust on development, stability, etc. It is just at an alpha level and look at the support it already has.

Yeah, LL has to appeal to the people they have neglected for too long. Unfortunately I don't see it as respecting us.. I see it as trying to hold on to us. They may have finally woke up and realized they need us, not so much us them.

True, but now we are important. Why is not important, no one can reasonably expect a company to care for us, that is just PR. We are important now because we pay and we can (soon) pay elsewhere instead.

We are no longer marginal, but LL could be one day. Lots of companies are looking at becoming what LL wants to be in the future Metaverse.
