The all new mainland thread

Because I can't find the last one.

What is the average price per sq. m at the moment?

What is a reasonable price per sq. m for a parcel with a protected side?

Should you expect to pay more for protected waterfront than protected roadside?

Are prices climbing or falling right now?

Speculate away kthx.

gosh i miss Ray Figtree's land speculation threads.

Right not I've been buying basic greeb stuff at 3.8 and selling at 4.2- 4.5. Waterfront I've been buying at 4.5-5 and selling at 5-5.5 depending on the area.

Thanks Sarah! That's in line with what I've observed trawling the land sales list.

Anyway, I've just found a roadside parcel I REALLY want, but it's listed at 9L per sq. m and because I'm such a skinflint and reluctant to pay over the odds, I've made the owner an offer in the region of 7.5L per sq.m -- which I think is fair -- but I gotta wait for him to come online now.

I sold a parcel for 147L per sq.m the other day. That was in Bay City though. The other parcel for sale hasn't sold and now I'm stuck. heh. It is right next to the one that was bought. I'll give it some time then lower that one, or not. I was literally logging in to lower the price when I noticed . . . oops, I didn't own that land any longer. heh. It was a vague idea, the lowering the price. Not sure if I really would have.

If you ever lower the price to 20L per sq.m let me know.

I almost bid on one of those parcels, but then I discovered you can't bid on behalf of a group.

I wouldn't have won anyway. It turned out that 40,000L was NOT going to get me a 1120m2 over there.

Yes the group thing was annoying. Finally put all but one parcel in a group.

Do you see prices rising in the foreseeable future? (Has LL still got a hold on mainland regions right now?)

The hold on new Mainland regions is still strong , They have not created any in the past 3 weeks*and I believe no existing full regions have been put up for auction during this period Originally they said (IIRC) they were going to review the situation c.15th of July .

EDIT: *Its longer that 3 weeks - aside from 4 of the SL5B regions and The Corn Field there have been no new Mainland Sims since 6th June
