Yes, and it would work fine aside from the inability to weight verts across different skeletons, but with work it could be seamless.

Limit 1 attached animesh per avatar.

Unlike regular rigged mesh, attached animesh can be repositioned and rotated on itís attachmebt point as if it were non rigged. (Still canít be resized)

It can still be resized if not attached, right?

Nope. As soon as animesh checkbox is checked it jumps to itís skeletonís proper scaling. As if Ruth is wearing the shape (smaller shapes must use joint offsets, animesh equipping shapes is not planned for release but is in the plans apparently )

That seems like a bizarre restriction. If you want two different sized animated venus fly traps in your house you have to upload two different animeshes?

Thatís the simplistic way to do it, the more advanced way would be to make a separate set of animations that make that stretch model bigger.

OK, you have to upload two different animations. From the point of view of someone just setting up a build using animated plants it's six of one and half a dozen of the other. Neither is practically possible for anyone but the original creator.

What is the reason for this bizarre restriction?

The only thing with bones to animate in SL is the avatar skeleton. They aren't adding new skeletons, they are creating a way to put that skeleton into things besides player bodies.

Yeah but that could come.

While we are talking maybes, what are the odds they seperate the head from the body? Also allow scripts to modify body sliders.

15, plus higher LI if the object is very complex..which is IMO fine.

It used to be much higher than 15 LI in the early testing phases, along the lines of 200. And I think the limit for animesh objects is 100000 triangles, which is quite generous.

Can a rigged mesh be animated as well - think beanie propellor on a hat (rigged)

Think about it this way.

The mesh body, could have its own little rigged jiggles, that animate when you move.

In theory, or something.
