I offered to host the archive - within 24 hours of shutting down SC, Mother wiped the server completely, unfortunately. There was quite an incredible history there, good and bad - and it was all wiped out. I can understand his reasons, but still, it completely sucked. The ghost of SC is often invoked to try to settle some long dead score, so it would be nice if the actual content was available.

In all seriousness, when has content *ever* settled something? Look at the Politics forum, look at any drama thread. You know, very much in your heart, that for every fact, for every printed and documented datum, there will be as many opinions as people want to have.

I miss SC, and specifically miss some very, very entertaining and dear threads that happened there that I had no chance to archive. But, frankly, I'm glad it isn't around (painful though that might be), because I'm willing to bet that there are at least a quadruple handful of argumentative, tedious topics that would never, ever die until the universe implodes/explodes.

I'm sure you've got some kind of archival backup of SLU, and also hope that people who have favorite threads here will save them. Nothing lasts forever unless you make it so.

Lastly, I sure like the way SLU works. I really can enjoy even brief moments here, so thanks - as always - are in order.
