I'm a 1967 and usually one of the younger ages of people at my club, but we do have a huge age range and that's what I love about it. I would say our average age range is late 50's....right up to late 70s.

I love seeing how SL can overcome any physical barriers or limitations and let peoples minds be what they really are.

1960 and I never felt part of the baby boom generation. That was '60s and Woodstock and such hippie shit, that was over and done with before I was really old enough to enjoy it.

'67 here, and yeah, sure, I ushered in the Summer of Love [yay for spring birthday], but I didn't get to enjoy a bloody thing about it.

No, not quite the same as seeing Jimi

I'm a '59er and I thoroughly enjoyed Woodstock and all the rest. There were exceptions of course. I guess you just had to have parents that were a bit more open minded as mine were. Even my dad let his hair grow long(er), grew a beard and smoked a bit of ganja.

I offer you freedom from regret:

Iron Butterfly was pretty much a local San Diego band. As a former San Diegan, I can assure you, you didn't miss anything. In fact, your sense of rhythm probably dodged a bullet.

Let's just say the boys enjoyed a beer or thirty, and there was a lot of editing done on that album.

eta: After I posted this I saw the "live" clip -- watch the ends of the sticks --- that's an overdub. Dude really looks like he's into it, though!

Lee Dorman, bassist for Iron Butterfly, died on Friday December 21, 2012 at the age of 70.

Dorman was born in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1942. He joined the Southern California-based Iron Butterfly for its second and best-known album, In-a-Gadda-Da-Vida, which was released in 1968. The 17-minute title track helped the album sell more than 30 million copies, and a three-minute version of the song became a Top 40 hit.

So byte me Casey.

Woodstock (the directors cut) was on TCM the other night. It had been a while since I'd last seen it. Some of the performances that floored me at the original screening seemed a little, how should we say...dodgy, after nearly 50 years of retrospection.

Gen X - hm - maybe. I'm a boomer, and I'm not alone in the crowds I hang out with.

I really think it depends on where you hang out in SL too. Also there are some perpetually young old people and lots of grumpy old young ones who are lots of fun, which can be fabulous. I used to be more social but I do still have the SL wanderlust, I donít think that will ever get dull for me. I should join an exploring group or at least go to LEA openings and photohunts more. My new cable modem is installed but I still have inventory loss issues.

I'm 40.

I remember when the Berlin Wall fell and Reagan's words to Gorbachev to tear down that wall.
