My Mood: SL Join Date: 08-19-2003 | This is almost totally off topic, but it's an observation on skins. I've been in SL for a long time and I've tried on alot of demos. Many of them have female names and for the life of me, I've never tried on a skin named Siobhan! Or hair for that matter. I don't really have a point here. I was just pondering this last night while shopping at ETD. So, if any of you talented peeps wants to name a product Siobhan, let me know. I'll buy it just because I'm a dweeb about that kind of stuff.

Business: desolation/grace, MockSkins and Clothing Blog Entries: 1 | I have found a couple that I really love. I am always a fan of the Vogue skins from Starley. That is a given. I have wanted to change things up a bit. I wound up going for the Phoebe line in Laqroki (formerly RaC) and getting the Scarlett skins (and shape just for fun) from Redgrave. The Phoebe is a little wonky for under the nose, and the neck is just a tad off, and the Scarlett is a little TOO real (and something is buggy with the eyes even when using the shape provided) but both are extremely nice. I still use my Vogue skin (in pure) but have switched over the Phoebe for general use, and the Scarlett for special superposh occasions.

My Mood: SL Join Date: Originally 03/2008 | I have to agree on Vogue skins. I've come across many that look great... until I demo them. Vogue (mine are from Celestial Studios, if that matters) is the only line that looks great on me anytime, and I pretty much stick exlusively to them, namely the Vamp - Seduce skin in Champagne which I get many compliments on for the choice iSL. Detail is pretty good, even on nipples.

Business: Desperation Isle Estates | Nomine has always had the best nipples. On a related note, some friends and I were at Tenemos once and Zoe Llewelyn was there while we were trying on some of her skins. At one point I kind of absent-mindedly claimed, "OMG my nipples are ENORMOUS!" And Zoe piped in, "Oh really? I actually modeled them after myself, RL." And I was all "Pix plz, thx."

Blue
| When I first started SL I aimed for a look that was close-ish to the way I look in RL (or at least the way I looked when I was about six years younger than I am now). The first skin I got was Thomas from Skin Flicks, which I liked because of the photorealistic detail. But there was something about the face that bugged me, I couldn't get it the way I liked no matter how I tweaked the shape. So I trekked everywhere, looking at quality skins and reccommendations, and nowhere, even among the really expensive ones, could I find a skin that looked right on me. Then by chance I found another skin that I like much better, it's close enough to the Skin Flicks one that I was still recognised easily enough but I think it's a huge improvement. It's not quite as photorealistically detailed, but the face looks much better with my shape. Now I compare the two I realise it's the eyes and eyebrows on the original that were all wrong. The new skin is a cheap (L$199) one from SL skins at Aman but shush, don't tell anyone. Anyway here's some before & after pics to compare ![]() |
