I loved how he felt he was a saint because he said he stopped ad dealing. He's ruined to many sims to just have his slate wiped clean in my opinion, if he even really stopped. Going by the huge ads he has up in Bear I seriously doubt he's "done". And he was a douche yesterday. I could be wrong but I don't think I started crap with him. He seemed to be picking fights. Hanging in Bear was pretty fun until he came over to the hub. I'd going to leave the situation alone now. Lias and Ryan can waste there second lives treating people like shit if they want until they kill each other.

That type of behavior is pathetic if you ask me.
I agree that sickens me. Not to mention how trauimatic it could be to someone who doesnt know that all that happens is you get tp'd "home" or who maybe had a shooting death in their family?

I help out at Ahern/Morris but I only spend 30 minutes at most and I give the newbs files with notecrads and how to do stuff as well as some quality clothing etc.

There's a crew of people that "hang out" there and claim they help newbs, when in reality they are showing off to the newbs their latest hair, skin etc as well as occassionally griwefing anmd messing with them.

Of course the usual strip club owners/talent scouts, people spamming you to tgheir niteclubs, and Goreans and other RP'ers looking for fresh meat are also there. It's a miracle mopre people dont just say F' it!

Those jackwads that did that to the girl should be banned. In addition their inventories should be confiscated and reissued to newbs. Kind of like when they confiscate the property of criminals as part of reparations to society.

I hate that crap

I see the problems at Ahern and the big hubs, but Bear seems pretty mellow and has way way less traffic.

And the Bear infohub is obviously good for business, at least for Ryan, because he closed his location next to Ambat.

What Lias and Ryan are doing is ridiculous just kills any chance of problems being addressed on info hubs with real problems that actually do need a little policing.

That woman needs some vodka, some valium, and a reality check. Good lord.

My first home off of Help Island was Ahern. What a frickin' disaster. I didn't make it 5 minutes before I got set on fire and laughed at. I'm glad that there are people like Brave there now to offset that sort of garbage.

At any rate, I don't have a dog in this race, but reading this thread and the one in the LL forums has made me really want to visit Bear. I'm heading over there tonight first thing to witness the battlezone for myself. I expect it to be like downtown Baghdad - all smoking ruins and carnage.

The impression I am getting is they are preying on the new players... and with the infohub group there those new players are getting information that helps them avoid the over priced items and poor payout camping pads they have set up

The camp pads were'nt always there though. Otherwise, you're right-some of the Bear regulars keep freebie folders to hand to to newbs, full of halfway decent freebies, LMs and the like (better have voice enabled, though, a few of them are too lazy to text chat (by their own admission).

Yeah but now it seems they want the campers so they can control the numbers of people in the sim, wouldn't surprise me if in the future an alt account buys up some other land and sets up camp pads there...

They also get evasive on answering some of the questions I ask, which leads me to really suspect they are not keen on informed newbies running around the sim

Edit: checked out the freebies with a camera browse... they are selling full perm BiaB stuff in the freebie sections for far more than it's worth... don't mind the 1L per box thing too much (kind not so free...)

I never paid much attention to the freebie stuff over there anyway but at least it's better than where I rezzed at, which has nothing at all hardly.

well she basically admitted to griefing of the users of the infohub in the other topic.

So we'll see what linden labs decides about the current build and it's impact on the visual and physical enjoyment of the people using the info hub

I think there's a non-zero chance that LL is just waiting for one of the landowners in Bear to do something *really* stupid, so they can just close out their accounts and be done with this crap. Per her RA posts, Lias has been threatening a lawsuit (blowing smoke, or inhaling?), and eventually LL will have enough of it.

As it stands (and as I commented on the pjira), the Bear situation is far from welcoming to newbies who wash ashore there, due to the verbal, notecard, and visual griefing they're getting from those landowners. If LL wants to improve new resident experience and improve early retention, they may well act to remove this source of constant aggravation.

As Isablan points out, it is obvious that the Bear landowners want newbies to follow "the natural flow": wandering from the InfoHub to their businesses, not warned or distracted by any stray Mentors or other experienced residents. God forbid they should find their way to the NCI parcel adjacent, and learn what scams await them elsewhere in the sim.

An Infohub, also known as a Welcome Area, is a place where Residents congregate and socialize.

been sitting on that link for a while... figured I'd drop it while trying to get her to explain the difference between a club using up sim resources and an info hub doing it

she's actually complaining that the KB article was changed after they released the infohubs... guess it doesn't cross her mind... the KB article lists LL's current view on how the hubs are to be used...

I agree.

I'm starting to think it's not the traffic that is the problem.. she wants the land and is using the traffic as an excuse.

She constantly tries to avoid directly answering why the venue matters if the same group just moves to a club. (or heaven forbid the NCI area)

She'll still have the supposed congestion problem, but it'll be okay because they are not on the public property... it's a park and she sees it as a parking lot.

I think the problem is she and the rest expected it to bring business profits... never mind most of the junk in the sim isn't worth the prices they charge (and many are easily surpassed with the various freebies from known stores)

Moving more club venues into a sim with problems tells me she shouldn't be teaching club ownership courses.
