I wonder how many millions of lindens these parcels will cost after the leech barons bid them out of existence.

I'm gonna be a leech baron bidding because I want to own one of these lots. I love the set up.

Couldn't be any worse than oldbies sitting on land in Brown, Boardman, and Nova Albion, leaving the only available parcels for sale for insane prices.

It's too bad there's no terra. I was thinking Soup Kitchen with a speakeasy in the basement. I think the technohippies at the lab forgot that the 30s weren't so shiney.

sounds lovely, double prims. i wish i could convince people to give me land to build stuff on. i'd build it for them!... honest.

OT. are there people who do that? don't have pre-fab stores, they sell themselves, then build entirely custom on the clients land? that would be sweet.

It is insane. I'm hoping these new city sims will devalue them. I have land in 2 of the old city sims, mostly in Barcola where the Armidi (clothing group) people have snapped up quite a bit of land. It's been sitting empty for months and I really hope they do something with it because I like their builds.

Bay City..

Sorry this name just makes me think of the Bay City Rollers.

You know, Bad music, bad hair, tartan trousers, and shagging little boys.

what will LL do next.

The Gary Glitter urban project on the teen grid?

I mean really..

a project most of europe will associate with a band, now associated in popular conciousness with one of its members (who was a nurse in a children's hospital by then) collecting child porn.

WTF

Calleta is probably more true to the 30's.

/me agrees with Lucifer, that was exactly my initial thought

Sarah, people who bid on a lot to use aren't leech barons. Fucking leech barons are fuckers that bid up the prices to secure several lots for the express purpose of overpricing and sitting on them for months. Those useless leeches can fuck the Moon before it smashes them into oblivion and makes the world a much better place.

I suppose I fit somewhere in there because I do buy and sell. I'm a bad dealer because when it comes to that kind of land I get attached and keep it a lot of the time. I never sell my Shermerville lots and I bought 3 lots in DaBoom, 2 I sold but one I kept. I don't need it, but I wanted it really bad. I'd like a lot in bay city because I dig it, and I also think it would be a good place to have a rental office because traffic might be good. Given the chance to buy some of it at below whatever market price gets established there I would buy and resell though.

Last night we were pushing the sign to raise and lower a bridge that kept crashing into the water ha ha. Finally one half of it flew off world and the other half started randomly lowering itself into the water and raising itself level ha ha ha.

Why didn't the designers just make the prims go phantom when a boater touched the sign and non-phantomed after the collision ended? People really don't grok this whole virtual thing do they.

Yes ... for now ... until the builds start and the rotating "For Sale" cubes go up ... and yes it's a bit stylized ... but an Art Deco motif is very attractive ... it reminds me of the sets seen on the Nero Wolf (Rex Stout) TV show and novellas of olde.

Yeah Morgaine and I were there last night and saw a fucked up bridge…LOL!
I really liked what I saw (minus the bridge thing) and I hope that more projects such at this will come along to help the mainland.
The notice in the blog was by Michael Linden, is this a DPW project?
