My Mood: | Dark skins are so hard to get right, The lip color or make up can make a face look ridiculous. Also, the color of brown has to be pleasing.. Ive seen some that are greyish brown (bleh) and some that are warmer brown but look flat. then I have to like the way it's made. i don't like photorealistic skins..I have veins, creases, and non perfect skin in Rl, I dun want it in SL. I also don't want a celebrity face. *Sigh* I think I'll keep my old on until i see one that absolutely floors me. Winsome deserves the very best ![]() |

Your friend having a bad computer is not the merchant's fault. If your computer can't handle SL, that's your problem. Making a mistake is annoying, but it happens. The creator is not under any obligation to give out free things to rectify something that is not his fault. For a start, as far as he's concerned, your friend may have been a scammer, trying to get free stuff. People try to do this to me often several times a week, some more sneaky about it than others. I will agree that it's still not nice to not respond. I personally make a point of responding to every person who Ims me regardless of the query. But I wouldn't say that means he deserves the things you said. It is possible to lose things very easily in SL. Somewhere with as big a customer base as abyss, the creator is likely getting capped IMs very frequently. And it's also entirely possible to miss things that you do get. You can crash a few seconds after startup, which unfortunately happens more often than anyone would like, and lose open IMs/inventory offers.

| 7 days doesn't seem like a very long time to me. That's basically a vacation. I kind of err on the side of the creator when it comes to these things. You cannot really blame them for being away for a few days. We do have 1st lives after all. And until SL has some kind of vacation instant notice like say, Outlook or most email programs do, it's difficult to say they are just ignoring you. Now if the notecard was ACCEPTED, then, well... that's another thing |

My Mood: | Try X2 Skins too. I know not everybody likes them because they donīt have that smooth look almost all the skins have, but I find them absolutely brilliant. I only wish there were more of them. Tuli, Nevermore and Pixeldolls have the best nice skins for me after X2.

I consider myself an expert on this topic. Basically 90% of darker skins in SL are complete rubbish. They have red undertones, which usually is a dead give away that the person making the skin is not of a darker complexion. If you buy foundation makeup in real life and you have a dark complexion the one thing that people are looking for is something that does not have a red or orange base as it looks terrible on, many makeup lines advertise they do the opposite of this. So wearing a red undertoned skin is like buying cheap foundation, it doesn't work. I am medium brown IRL (you can see my pic on my 1st life profile) and I have yellow undertones. No one really does this well. The 3 skins I used to wear were a set of custom skins from Starley, a set of custom skins from Toast based on my RL makeup (which still looks amazing 3 years later), and a set from Launa. Launa doesn't go that dark or do the slider skins anymore, which is unfortunate because she was really good at it. My current skin is from Redgrave and it looks amazing but it is photsourced, realistic. That is a big change for me as I used to only wear drawn skins. The difference with this skin is the photosourced elements seem to only be on the body and the face is blended well/drawn. I am not into the wearing a corpse on my face look that a lot of photo realistic skins offer. The set that I have has heavy makeup which I like because IRL, I go heavy on the eyeshadow and gloss, but it might not be to the taste of all. I have been dragged around to look at other skins, but these are the best I have seen so far at a decent price. I would suggest Redgrave or Toast. | |

My Mood: | We will have to agree to disagree on that. I frankly think 7 days is outrageous. When I went out of town for a few days last month and didn't have access to SL I damn well kept up with IM via PDA and let customers know I was out of town and would take care of their requests when I returned. I expect no less from a skin designer making easily $70k to $80k a year (if not more.) No excuse for not having IM go to email, no excuse not to have IM be logged. While there is no "out of office" flag, there is this groovy thing called a Profile where a responsible content creator might say he/she was on vacation and please hold customer service requests until they return on _____ date. When content creators act like jerks it affects everyone else who creates content because it teaches customers not to trust. I am equally pissed off because this was a person I've been showing off SL to, and his first big purchase (which he saved up stipends for two months to make) goes into the toilet. Yeah, his fault in the long run, but damn...not even a "I don't fix customer mistakes" response. That's just rude and disrespectful to someone who just dropped 2000L at your store. So, go ahead and think I'm being harsh. This person still goes in my book as a shit and an affront to everyone else here who works so very hard to take care of their customers and handle their business right. |

| I just released this one about two weeks ago. I also have another with a darker complexion that's of the same quality. I also have several photorealistic make black skins. |

My Mood: | Hand drawn poser skins can be just as easily stolen as photosourced poser skins, just saying. You'll have to take a risk. I make skin, but I've been terribly remiss in posting my updated work, guess I should stop bogarting My work is a mix of hand drawn and photosource, but all done by hand in Zbrush/PS ... and yes, all my textures are legitimately licensed if they were a photosource (I use 3d.sk and photography my bf and myself have done).

"I call it purring, not growling," said Alice. "Call it what you like," said the Cat. |
